My Gran Dad came to Mississippi after the Civil War. He was from Newberry County. He married Filora Emma Epting. The Eptings were from S.C.. I don't think my Davis line have any connection to yours but I don't KNOW.

HI IM NEW AT THIS, BUT MAYBE SOMEONE CAN HELP. MY GRANDFATHER NAME IS JOHN WILLIAM DAVIS BORN IN 1884, NOT SURE WHERE HE WAS BORN. HIS MOTHER AND FATHER DIED WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG, HIS 2 AUNTS RAISED HIM. I DONT EVEN HAVE THEIR NAMES. HE MARRIED MARTHA KAYE BRADFORD, IBELIVED SHE WAS BORN IN TEXAS, AND THATS WHERE MY GRANDFATHER MARRIED HER. THEY LIVED IN ALABAMA UNTIL 1951 WHEN HE SOLD THEIR LAND AND MOVED TO FLORIDA . Hello My connection to your lineage is the Bahr surname. My great grandmother was Matilda Bahr who was a daugter of Andrew and Barbary Sachs Bahr. Andrew was a son to Marie Lurker and John Bahr. Andrew settled in Easton, PA and he and his descedants are buried in the old and new cemetery at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Maria Eva Lurker Bahr was a daughter to Jacobus Lurker and Margaretha Ramstein. Maria died November 28, 1895. Andrew Bahr died June 10, 1919 and Barbara Bahr died December 16, 1919. Martin Maria's other son died July 5, 1935 and Louisa his wife died March 15, 1918. Please contact me I have other information. Matilda Bahr married Ignatius Bechtel who was a son to Martin and Mary Koch Bechtel from Gamshurst, Baden, Germany. They came to the US in the year 1882. The Bechtel side also has the surname Volz in our lineage.
