Your John Pendleton Thomas Jr shows to have been in Alabama but buried in Fayette KY and buried at Vernon Cemetary. Fayette Co AL is now Lamar Co AL and the county seat is Vernon. I have five generations of ancestors from there counting my father. My DNA gave a match to a DNA tree with Rowland Thomas born abt 1650 in Caroline VA. His son Joseph Thomas married a Sarah Pendleton and they had a son John Thomas born abt 1740 in KY who married a Mildred Hawkins born abt 1740 in England. It shows their son to be your John Pendleton thomas with son Dudley Hawkins Thomas. The Hawkins line was already in my tree as well as the Pendleton line. I have been searching for the father of my direct line ancestor John Tapley Thomas b abt 1808 Ga or NC (census records have him stating both) who died in Lamar Co. AL and left a multitude of descendants. John Tapley Thomas Married a Sara Thomas (we believe they are first cousins) who was born in Agusta, GA. They link to the Key family of Albamarle, VA (book Key and Allied families. I know your Thomas are at least cousins and hope you may have something more on my John Tapley Thomas.

trying to find my barretts in mississippi no luck. grgrandfather was george and mo was thinus children i know of henry, daisy, and jesse (my grandfather) who married sallie austin. my line was from booneville and corinth ms . must have not been landowners . so i'm stumped. my dad said we were part cherokee and found out online that is one reason some are not listed (a no no in those days)
i just hope some of my long lost cousins are surfing and run across my names and contact me.

One of their sons was Hugh Miller Jr., who was my great uncle. He married Emma Sue Huffstutler of San Saba, Texas. Since our ancestors seemed to have migrated from one part of the county to another together, and in some cases depended upon each other for survival, I have extended my scope in working my own family tree to include families that were close to my own. My grandfather was John William Jeremiah Barrett born October 17, 1827 died Februry 21, 1946. Mr. married Mary Emmer Huff January 29, 1895 in Trenton, Texas. I understand he was a preacher. He moved to Walters Oklahoma in 1910 and from there Kellyville, Ok where he is buried. They had 11 children, my father being one of them. I have very little to none information before their time. Know my ancestor Henry Billings b. Aug. 9, 1797 was an early settler of Bradford Co, PA & his daughter Mary Louisa, married B.A. Carey, who was b. in New London, CT 1820. Henry had a large family & then moved to WI & then MN.
Have a family history done by a Myron Billings whose son Harry, a banker in MN 1955 must of typed out. Looking for that family.
Appreciate any help. Also curious about the ones in WA or WI or IA.

George E. Billings
WEYBRIDGE — George E. Billings, 76, of Weybridge, died Nov. 12, 2002, at Helen Porter Health and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.
He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in New Haven, the son of Thadius and Effie (Allen) Billings. At the age of 6, he moved to Middlebury, where he attended school until he joined the U.S. Army in 1944. He served in the European Theatre, and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Army of Occupation Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Following his discharge from the Army in 1946, Mr. Billings worked as a master plumber and furnace expert by John Gerow and Sons in Middlebury, where he worked for 37 years.
He was a member of Middlebury Legion Post 27.
Survivors include his companion, Gladys Goodspeed of Weybridge, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, Allen, Ralph, Howard, Lyle and Raymond; and two sisters, Marjorie Amidon and Doris Piper.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Sanderson Funeral Home in Middlebury, with the Rev. Rich Neal officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, or Vermont Chapter of Parkinson’s Disease, PO Box 788, Milton, 05468.

MIDDLEBURY — Funeral services for George Billings, 76, who died Nov. 12, 2002, were held on Saturday at the Sanderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Neal, pastor of the Middlebury United Methodist Church officiated.
Graveside committal services and burial with military honors by Middlebury American Legion Post #27 followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Bristol.

After looking up my family, I decided to look up my husband's family, not expecting much luck because I knew the Huffstutler name was spelled and pronounced many different ways. I had heard a story that Ira Clyde Huffstutler changed the spelling from Huffstuttler, but that apparently isn't true. Hit a roadblock with my great grandfather Chastine T. Love (not sure that he gave his real name) father of William Clyde Love. The LA Census says he gave his place of birth as North Carolina and his parents as Ireland. He ran a mercantile boat on the Red River and all his children were born on the boat except the last one who was actually born on dry land in a hospital. I don't think our dates match, but I've know the census to be wrong and our close mouth, suspicious relative to outright lie if they didn't like the looks of the census taker <G> Glad I found your page. Look forward to the pictures. Hope to have a page of my own soon with pictures, too. Got a box of them, some are tintypes and some even silvers that are going black. Got to save them soon.

There are two Wiley Tadlocks, both with sons named Sidney. Both migrated from SC, one to NC the other to GA, AL, and finally TX. The father of Lex Thomas is Sidney E. Tadlock, the one who migrated to NC, the other is Sidney B. Tadlock. Sidney B. Tadlock is the son of Wiley Tadlock and Jane Boyles. Sidney E. Tadlock is the son of Wiley and a woman whose name I am still trying desperately to discover. I do know that he had a wife listed as "Disie" in the 1900 Lanes Creek Twp., Union, NC census. It is easy to confuse these two because of the incredible naming and place coincidences. However, Sidney E. Tadlock, the father of Lex Thomas Tadlock is NOT the son of Wiley Tadlock and Jane Boyles.

I have been so excited after finding your Barrett Photo Index page and locating pictures of my grantparents, great-grandparents, etc. My great-grandparents were Albert Logan Huffstickler and Martha Kennedy Huffstickler. I had never seen a picture of them and had only recently learned their names. My grandparents were Clyde Austin Huffstickler and Pearl Denton Huffstickler. You have a picture dated 1931 with them and my mom (Martha Nell Huffstickler -- now Earp) and my 2 uncles, Jack and Albert Huffstickler. I've only seen one photo of my grandfather (he died before I was born), and you had so many at your site I could not believe it. I have printed them all and called my mother. I cannot tell you how much they mean to me. Please tell me how you are related. One very special thing I found were pictures of my Aunt Nell (actually great-aunt). I have such good memories of her visiting in Ft. Myers when I was little. I have her name as Ora Nell Huffstickler rather than Barrett. Was she married before she married John Smith? I could go on and on.
It took me a while to find your site, but I knew I had to find out who you were. I would love to hear from you.

I was searching the Rootsweb World Connect archives for William Love Thompson and found your entries. William Love Thompson, Sr. was my great grandfather and your entry was for his son, William Love Thompson, Jr., who married Margaret Hutton. William L. Thompson, Jr. was the brother of my grandfather Robert Ludlow Thompson. My grandfather died a few years back in Charleston, SC. Anyway, I have taken up the genealogy work my he left and still have the same Thompson "brickwall" he did, finding the ancestors of John Knox Thompson, William Love Thompson Sr.'s father. John Knox Thompson left no trail except that I know he was born in N. Ireland in 1822 and married Nancy Elizabeth Love in Choctaw Co., MS in 1869. How are you connected to my Thompsons and do you have any information on John Knox Thompson? If you are related to these Thompsons then I suppose we are distant cousins. I was searching for Fuller websites and because my maternal grandmother was a Billings, I decided to search for an Ezekiel Billings, who was her grandfather. I believe that my ancestor is the same Ezekiel Billings, Jr. that you have listed in your family tree because my ancestor married a Dimmis (Manross)Mannos, fought in the War of 1812 and died in Erie County, PA. Was looking for great-great grandfather Stephen Barrett.
From Tn or Illinois, I know that in 1864 in Illinois he married Martha Davis. They then came west, where he died in 1865 or 66 at Fort Vancouver, Washington territory. I have traced Martha's family back to Monroe County Tenn, and Mcleansboro, Illinois. But can find no other record of Stephen.
