My great-grandfather, HENRY O'BRIEN,lived in Winnebago Co. in 1860 as a farm laboror with a Blaisdell family. He was 29 years old.
Records indicate he was born in Alberta, Canada about 1829. I can't verify that at this time.
He enlisted in the Union Army on 8, Aug. 1862 in Cherry Valley. He mustered out, 10 June, 1864: Nashville,TN

I was looking back over the guest book on my web page and found your post there.. At the time I put the page up we had VERY LITTLE information on the Renesch family... I still have very little, but I was able to find my Great-Grandmother's (Francisca (Renesch) O'Brien/Ayers) family and for the first time learned her mother's name was Caroline Elizabeth (Sengeler) Westemeier-Renesch.
We found that Caroline was married twice and had children by both husbands..
Caroline was born in *Loraine, Baden, Germany
Her first husband was John Westemeier (He was a police officer in Cincinnati) and they had 4 kids;

George Westemeier b: 1866 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio
John Westemeier b: 1869 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio
Casper Westemeier b: 1871 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio
Her second husband (my line) was ;
Henry Jacob Renesch. b: 1847 in *Loraine, Baden, Germany
1880 - Henry Renesch was a machine hand living at 14 Moore
1890 - Carrie, Widow of Henry was living at 61 Flint St
They had four kids also;
Francisca Renesch b: Jan 1878 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio (my GGrand)
Laura Renesch b: 1880 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio
Joseph Renesch b: Jan 1882 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio
Benard Renesch b: Jan 1882 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio
Joseph and Benard were twins. Never married and both died young... one when he was 21 and the other died when he was 23..
