Name: Nancy Lee Boone <Boonen2002@yahoo.com> Date: 2006-06-21 Earliest Known Ancestor Isaac Cummings They were from Ireland/Scotland How I found this page Rootsweb.com Comments:
My maiden name is Cummings, and my husband is Daniel "Danny" Boone (b. May 13, 1937), whose father was Ernest Paul Boone from Erwin TN. Dan's mother, Opal Effie Brown died of TB at the age of 29. His parents both had TB and only stayed married for a few years, so Dan knows little about his family. Dan looks like the real Daniel Boone. His dad was buried in Martins Creek Cemetery (1915-1965, but his parents are listed as October Webb & Birdie Mae Calhoun. He might have been adopted, but kept his Boone name. I found him on the 1930 Census with Samuel Boone and Juley Boone listed as his parents. I think he is related to the Toe River Boones some way because my husband also looks like Joseph Jute Boone. Hey, genealogy by looks!!! We would love to find out if you have any information on this mystery as we are stumped. Thank you so much. Then there is my Cummings family side... Nancy Lee Boone

I have a great deal of information about the children of Stephen and Mary Boon my 3gr grandparents, through their thirteenth and last child,Sampson.I have documentation as to the names and dates of the family through more than a dozen letters written by Sampson discussing the goings on of the NC family with Driver Boon in Indiana. I have been able to visit cemetarys court houses and so on by which practically statement he made in his letters have been proven to be authentic and correct.
I like others, though, am stymied in my effort to learn anything much about Stephen other than that he did exist and that he ws married to Mary (the name attributed to her in one of Sampson's letters. I also do not know Mary's family name.
I have seen some things on the net that seems to indicate that Stephen and Mary were married in Springfield NC. It causes me to believe that someone has knowledge that I have been unable to locate or that they are mistaken. I would like to learn why or from what source that claim is made.
I would be happy to share with you anything that I have that would add to what you have and of course would like to be able to appeal to you from time regarding my quest to locate my elusive ancestors. I look forward eagerly to hearing from you.
Respectfully
Dan Swann

Dear Mr. Cummings, I am interested in your history of the Boone family, earlier on the net than Gregory Boone work -- Stephen Boone c. 1730, Springfield, N. C. I believe that Thomas Boone (1774- 1749) may be the father of my gg grandfather Joseph Boone (1815-1884), Duplin/Sampson, N. C. I am mostly using census records of 1920 and 1940. Can you help? I've been looking for this man for a year. Sincerely yours, Sandy M. Brown
