My grandfather Edward was born to a family in the Indiana area, He was adopted by the family of Markel's. His birth family is supposed to be Carroll. It was a large family. Other than pics i have I don't know where to start.

My CARROLL info is very sketchy as well. My husband GGrandmother was Mary Katherine CARROLL (we think). She was married to paul yates PEACOCK before 1900, she was born around 1870. We have her on a census record with Paul but not since. We think she may be related to Margaret "Maggie" CARROLL who was married to Louis A. SPIESS, but not sure at all. We do know she was born in Washington DC and she had three children there Mary Estelle "Stella" my husband's grandmother. Margaret "Peggy", Catherine Roberta & maybe a son Joseph. If any of this rings any kind of bells with you, please contact me.

Roger E. Carroll was the father of Micheal E. Carroll who was the father of Edward A Carroll, who married my great grandmother Norma Carroll (maiden name Dodge).

I am trying to locate my 3rd. grt. grandfather Benjamin Franklin Carroll (b. 1835 VA from 1870 census Gott, Sullivan Co., TN) parents, siblings, grandparets, etc. He married on July 13, 1853 in Kingsport, TN to an Anna ____________ (b. 1836 NC). The names Edmond and Edward, I have learned were interchangeable in Ireland. My ggrandmother, V. Ann Carroll, had a brother Edmond, born in 1827. Although that name runs in the Kennedy family (Ann's mother was a Kennedy), there was an earlier Edmond Carroll in Kildorrery, Cork, so I think it was a Carroll name in my family. (Other names: Denis, Ellen, Mary, Catherine, and Anthony). I am wondering if you have any idea of where your Edward came from in Ireland. Jan

Louisa Whitelock b. 1882 believed married in Canada - probably Ontario Toronto area, also Mercy Whitelock her sister also born in Dorset, Eng. prob. 1880 who may have married a Carroll - son William LeRoy Carroll born 1915 died 1978 Tillsonburg Ontario.
