We were very interested to find this site with so much Conder family history. Lory Stevens Conder is the son of Phil William Conder who sent all his family research of the Conders, Allisons, Stevens, etc. to the LDS Library, where it is available for genealogists to use. If Susan Hudspeth is the daughter of John Haskell Crowson, she is the granddaughter of Nettie (Antoinette) Crowson, the sister of Phil William Conder. So her father would be Lory Stevens Conder's first cousin. Nice to find a family connection. Susan is to be congratulated for such a great web page!

Hello,
I am a descendant of Robert Crowdson. Another member of the family has done all the research...I just collected it.

My Crowson family line is as follows:

Robert Crowdson
(his son...)
William Crowson m. Comfort Littleton
(their son...)
John Crowson
(his son...)
Jehucal Crowson m. Sarah __?__
(their son...)
Elisha Crowson m. Susanna Smith
(their daughter...)
Margaret Crowson m. John Washington Burke
(their son...)
Charles Henry Burke m. Melvina Jones
(their son...)
Grant Burke m. Rebecca Adaline Clifton
(their daughter...)
Tessie Alma Burke m. John Colvin Wells
(their daughter...)
Racine Wells m. Lee Howard Jr.
(their daughter...)
Kim Howard...that's me!

I have quite a bit on the Crowson family but nothing on the ancestors of Margaret Crowson's husband, John Washington Burke. Fires have destroyed a lot of the records in Guilford County, NC. Margaret Crowson's family was in the Tailoring trade. I am lucky to have pictures of two of her children. Thank you for a wonderful site on the Crowdson/Crowson family.

Wonderful resources and great to see the interest in the Grangers.
I guess I am not in the Launcelot line. My James Granger, born in Gainsborogh, Nottingham somehow appears in Illinois in about 1876 and died in Illinois in 1883. No middle initial, we have been in Wisconsin ever since.
I'd be glad to add my line if only I find the proper format and send to you.
Thank you so much, you are a treasure to so many people.

This is a very interesting site. I am a decendant of Hans Georg Konder b.1706 m. Maria Barbara Fiscus b. 1710 in Trier Germany. This I have derived from many different sources, whom I think have used D.W. Conders book as a large part of their reference. I am now in the process of identifying my line in Ky. Most of my immediate family is rooted in Hardin and Grayson Co. Ky. My father changed the surname in the 1930's due a tax problem in Jefferson Co. Ky.
I never met my fathers' parents since they died before I was born. I was born in 1934, making me now 68 yrs. old. and all my family on both sides have passed on, leaving me only cousins and such to find and find out any info they might have. MY grparents were David H. Conder b. 1875 d. 1927 and Mary B. Smallwood b.1880 d.1916
I would like to hear from anyone with info about this line.

Already signed once, just went back to check records. It would seem we branch from the same tree. Where you went rom Lewis to George. My roots go from Lewis to Lewis, Jr, then to Thomas Patterson Conder (m. Bretty Lou Sherrin--last wife), then to Hurley Boyd Conder (m. Laura Klutz), then to Thomas E. Conder, Sr (m. Geraldine McCarter), then to me (soon to be married to Andrea Redard). Somewhere in our immediate family, we have a newspaper article of a Conder Reunion around the mid 1920's. The family was so intermarried with the Hemby's and the Starns' that they held their reunion together. This article purported that the Conders came from the French Conde background, and that they had been fleeing persecution from the royal family--something like that. Will investigate.
Thanks for all the research!
Rev. Tommy Conder, Salisbury, NC

Hallo,

I am very happy i found this page! My name is Sabine Konder, and I was looking for the parts of my family that moved overseas to brasil at the end of the 19th century.

My grand-granduncle Marcus (later Marcos) Konder moved to brasil as a young man; he was born in the village of Schweich near Trier. I found some fotos from his children which were taken at the beginning of the last century. My grandfather, Markus Konder, still hat some contact to them, but after his death in 1969 we lost the trail. I still remember that the brasilian part of the family was called Konder dos Reis.

When i found your homepage, i realized that very probably an other part of the family moved to the USA already in the 17th century. My father told me that the whole Konder-"clan"
in Trier and surroundings are relatives, and so I am quite sure that Hans Georg must have been one of my anchestors.

As my father told me, there must have been also a connection to the famous american Astor-family, but I cannot remember the details. I' ll ask him about this when he comes back from holidays.

I would enjoy it to get into contact with my relatives overseas and I am looking forward to any contact!

Sincere greetings to the whole family Sabine Konder
