Name: Donna Kenney <dlbordon@excite.com> Date: 2009-02-08 Your St. Cecilias ancestors name Pochel, Loreaux, Meyer, Leveque What I like best about this page Information about the families buried in St. Cecilia Comments:
I was at the cemetery in October, 2008. My third visit and everytime I learn more. The church was closed, unfortunately as I wanted to see the plot layout that use to be the rectory. It was freezing at the time of my visit and snowing or raining.
I see the second half of the Cathrinette Pochel stone finally surfaced when the tree came down. I tore out the grass around the first half when I was there in '92. I figured the second half was down there somewhere. Next to her stone should be her parents Nicholas and Anna Loreaux.
Wish I could dig and check if there is a stone. That would be a great find.
Barb - you helped my brother some time ago when he was visiting the cemetery with his wife and daughter. You emailed him the signature of Catherine Pochel on what I believe was the land deed. Can you tell me who owns the Loreaux property now or has the deed and where the property is in relation to the two cemeteries???? I suspect it is adjacent to one of them???
I would appreciate the information. By the way, Edward Pochel and Catherine Loreaux were my great great great grandparents.
Edward Pochel - Frederick Pochel(also in the cemetery)- Edward Pochel (buried in Oakwood Cemetery - E Aurora)- Florence Pochel Bordon (my grandmother), Beverly Pochel Bordon(my father) Gerry Pochel Bordon and Donna Bordon Kenney (bros & sister)(We live in the state of Washington.
Keep up the great work.
PS maybe I will be able to contribute some information some day. I have some French birth records on the Pochels. Donna Kenney
