My information states that she was born 1817 in the Coffin home hear Newport, NY and died in 1915. She is the sister of Abigail Coffin. My great/great/great aunt. I also have many photos of the Rowleys, Coffins, Messicks, Andersons. Memorabilia on Frank J. Mead, my mother's mother's father, with research in MN in a few weeks with someone I've located who has more! Hope to hear from you soon. Sigrid

You may be interested that Ernestine Frances Anderson was my mother, Margaret Mary Mead was her mother, and Frank J. Mead (of the Civil War, MN First Volunteer Regiment) was her father! All my direct relatives. I have photos of the Meads, memorabilia and more including an album that Aunt Otillie put together when my mother's mother, Maggie, died when mother was 2 1/2 in 1911. I have inherited all Ernest Anderson's photos and music -- he studied with Stravinsky and was an inventor of the 1st fuuly-automated packaging machines. He lived at the Hotel des Artiste in NYC which he helped design and where my mother grew up. I have several pictures of Nantucket and the Coffins. And more if I look more closely. I have the book on the written history of the Meads back to 1600 in England. Perhaps you would like to contact me about this? I'd love to compare our notes and dates. Good luck! Sigrid (named a Swedish name so I wouldn't forget my Anderson heritage -- Ernest's parents came from Odeshog in Sweden!)

I am Karen J. Prelog, previously married to Avonell's son Kenneth. Avonell is at my home today and we Googled her name. I never thought it would come up. She was delighted to find this information. I made copies of the information for her. She, however, says that she was born in Iowa, rather than Ohio as stated here. Her sister Dorothy was born in Ohio.

I recently bought a box of old documents belonging to a Robert Coffin of Washington, Dutchess County NY. They date from 1810-1840. He was a justice of the peace so there are wills and other documents related to estates that he was the executor of, along with many receipts for goods and services he purchased, a guardianship agreement and a booklet of livestock that he sold. I will most likely be donating the collection to the Dutchess County Historical Society in the next few months.

In a recent search, I saw that Elijah D. FULFORD married Matilda WATERMAN in your family tree. I have information on E. D. Fulford as he was a well-known trap shooter at live birds. He was in the sport for only about 12 years but because he traveled all over shooting the big tournaments, he was well respected. They took up a collection for a monument in Utica, NY. Annie Oakley donated to it.

If I am the first to sign, then I am pleased and honored. My "Coffin Connection" is thru g-g-g-g grandmother Mariam Coffin (1752-1825) daughter of David and Ruth (Coleman) Coffin in 1774, who married Charles Hubbs on Nantucket and died in Charleston Four Corners, Montgomery Co., N. Y. Very nice, informative website.
