Name: Carol Papineau <papin4@telus.net> Date: 2003-07-03 where are your hawns from Ontario via New York Comments:
Our Hawn is Phoebe born circa 1743. She was married to a James Hough who served and died with Butlers Rangers. We struggle with whether she was originally a hawn or whether she married into the Hawns after the death of James. The reason for this is that her daughters are listed as both Hawns and Houghs. The sons are Houghs. This is curious becasue we debate in this family whether there were two girls or one with two names. All the girls married and it would appear that they all had the same husbands ie. Hannah Hough and Hannah Hawn both married Martin Middaugh.
So is the hawn saga in my research.
