Hello again :)
I was just checking out your site again and was reading about all the "hollows" "hollers" and was wondering if you had heard about devil's den hollow? It's actually in the corner of our property, it's a very deep hollow between the valleys in the creek that runs in the corner of our property. It actually has a really deep swimming hole there and a sort of small cave that runs underneath it where there's a waterfall. The creek runs into little lost creek. Just wonderning if anyone knew of this area and had an info :)

I only just had access to some family records that pinpointed Warren Co. as an important part of our family's roots, but your site has already reminded me of the pride in my father's voice when he spoke about Daniel Boone's last home--he was proud of his Warren Co. background. Keep up the good work!

Heinrich Stegen (died 1846) and his wife are two of the first buried in the Church of Christ Cemetary (next to the church) in Marthasville (the tombstone is written in German). I'm not sure how he is related but my Great-Grandfather (from Germany) raised his family in Washington, MO. (across the river and attended the Lutheren Chuch). I had a cousin who owned a dairy farm in Holstein, MO but he died many years ago. There are other Stegens buried in the area but currently there are no Stegens living in Warren County, MO. I'm in Texas these days and have little opportunity to research this anymore. Thanx.
