Many thanks to you for your work. I have long used your records in my own research. My father, Jasper Obediah Salmon, was born near Doniphan. My great grandfather, Jesse Obediah Salmon, and his father, Wilson Salmon, are buried at the Towles Cemetery, just south of Doniphan. On April 1, 2009, using your directions, I visited the Siloam and Pitman cemeteries. A tree has fallen and needs to be cleared at the back left of the Siloam cemetery. It lies across the grave of Sidney Baxter and his wife, Nancy. Sidney was a half brother of my great grandmother, Nevada Jane (Baxter) Belk, who lies near the center of the Pitman cemetery. Their father, Jesse Erwin Baxter, lies at Siloam with his second wife (Sidney’s mother – Eliza Jane Dennison Baxter) under the drooping limbs of an evergreen tree at the front left of the cemetery. The Rev. James A. Spence lies in the back right of Siloam. He married my great grandparents. They were later divorced and are buried separately, he at Towles, she (Lillie Sullivan Salmon) at the Hancock Cemetery. Your work has helped me to find them all and preserve their memory for my family.

I thought I would come bacl and let you folks know how glad I am that so many are now doing this kind of work, especially in Arkansas.
My Amanda Stewart was born in 1840 in Ark. Who were her parents? She married first William H. Smoot and had a child and was living with him in Sebastian Co. AR. in 1860. He died in the War Beween the States and she married second Daniel Webster Byars in Grayson Co. Texas. In 1870 She and Daniel were in Polk Co. Ark. Have never been able to put her in a home in 1850. So I'm covering the state of Arkansas trying to find where she married William Smoot. Amanda and Daniel Webster Byars are my great grandparents.

Hi tuckers a few new things I like was ww1 book the clarity of other listings. Day after my last e-mail my father-in-law died in Michigan he was 88 old but sudden. We recently had Benny Hinn at church a few days, things are stirred up healings and miracles still hapening. Thought you would like to know margaret J Melton married ZW Hornbuckle Feb 3, 1876 in Hopkins Ky. Old documents have George W listed wrongly, I saw original book with only initials zw and took it for granted. Her mother may have been Marha jane Marks and dad William Richard Melton who married Jan 8, 1852 in Hopkins or Webster co but there are so many Meltons in that area not sure I have gone through dozens of pages still not sure. Hope all is well ed

My Scott, Evans, Vinson and O'Bryant lines would often go from Hickman County, KY to Randolph County, AR when the Mississippi River flooded their farm land. All I know is they took livestock and all on their travels. Thank you for providing so much history.

I was born at Shiloh community in 1945 in a log house. My parents were Lonnie L. Hill and Leo Hill. I had 2 brothers Walter and Lonnie and one sister Sharlette. We attended Shiloh Church for many years. I used to walk thru the woods about 4 miles to get to sunday school and church every sunday. I remember Shiloh well. Many dinners on the ground and cemetary workings. A lot of nice people. I remember the women hanging quilt racks from the ceiling and during the week the women would meet and quilt quilts for all the familys that went to Shiloh. I don't think anyone who needed a quilt got left out. I can remember the women teaching me how to make tiny stitches and how to quilt. They were very particular about how their quilts turned out. Must not have pucker spots and must have tiny stitches. I stuck my finger with a needle many many times. Looking back...it was a wonderful time.
