How did you find my site? searching for Isaac Coleman
Comments:
My gggrandfather was Orrin Jackson Coleman, b Burke County GA 12 Mar 1826, married Winnie Phelps in Randolph County GA 15 Mar 1855. I do not know who his father is, although family word of mouth indicates it is Isaac Coleman, and there are clues, although so far no hard documentation. Isaac had a son named Elisha by his 2nd wife, so I have been looking at Elisha in your chart. The Isaac I am looking for would have been born abt 1801 by census records. Since OJ was born in Burke County, I'm looking for a Burke County connection, and a Burke County marriage abt 1825. Isaac married a second time, Mary Anderson - Early County GA 30 Dec 1838, and a 3rd time - Martha Jenks - Randolph County GA 30 Sep 1852. He died in Randolph county between 1870 and 1880. I don't know where he or the ives are buried. I have a guess on the 3rd. Icould not clik on a link for your Isaac Coleman in 1795, although I think he's the one in Jasper County, GA. Don't knoe if you can help any, but I thought it was worth a shot! Thank You.

Gale

Are you a Coleman or a Coleman Cousin?? Cousin-my grandmother's mother was a Coleman from Laurens Co., GA
Who is your favorite ancestor & why?? It helped me some but I cannot get my line back further than my grandmother's grandfather, Wm Andrew Coleman, b 1827, Laurens Co
How did you find my site? Was searching Wm A and other Colemans who I think may be related to him.
Comments:
I copied your pedigree chart starting with Elias Coleman. I have information showing his mother as Lucretia Whitfield, the daughter of Lewis & Mrs Lewis Whitfield. I found his wife's given name on Rootsweb.com Global Search. The name of her parents was from Familysearch.org IGI.

Hi.... I came to your site as a result of a Google Search for info on the Colemans of Burke and Jefferson co., GA. My Colemans, originally from SC, were from Cobb and Carroll county, GA. My interest in Burke and Jefferson co., GA. Colemans was due to my finding a couple passenger lists which had a Carlton M. Coleman and a John L. Coleman from Jefferson co., GA. These two were returning to the States from a trip to Honduras. This was interesting to me because my Coleman family had immigrated to Honduras following the Civil War and stayed there until well after the end of the "Reconstruction" years.

Hi: Great site! I think I see several common surnames...Keen, Hatcher, Scott, and more! Wd like to hear from you via email on any of these ... Also, my KEEN line was in LAURENS CO., GA in early 1800s. Believe my WILLIAM KEEN b. 1796 may be a cousin to YOUNG KEEN & COLEMAN KEEN family. Wd love to hear from anyone with this line, esp. if they can place my WM. KEEN in this family line! Thanks! Tina tpeddie@charter.net

Are you a Coleman or a Coleman Cousin?? Coleman
Comments:
I am researching the Daniel Coleman's in Virginia and Kentucky. In my line there are 3 of them and they all married women with the first name of Patience, go figure. It makes for some problems; anyway the first Daniel's father was a Robert Coleman, who came as a headright person. I am looking for information on his father and some documentation on the Daniel's.

Comments:
In looking for the surname of KEEN, I came across your website. My grandfather was Young Bright Keen that was born in Laurens Co., Ga. My mother was Lila Irene Keen Fordham. She also was born in Laurens Co., GA. I am searching for info on my family and trying to establish the Native American Connection. My mother's mother was Annie Eugenia Gay Keen from the middle Ga. area also. So when I found your site I was excited to find someone that had info on the Middle Ga. area. Your site was very interesting and I assume that we are cousins somewhere along the line. Thanks for the info and I would like to correspond with you if you think that you would be interested. Have a good day. whiteeagle@citlink.net

I love the site! You've filled in some information I didn't have about an ancestor of mine. My great-great-great-grandfather was Abner Sutton (husband of Mary Williams). Their daughter, Tempyan (or Tempan) married Ephriam Yeomans. Tempyan & Ephriam's son Edward was maried to Mary Etta Coleman, daughter of John & Mary Coleman. Edward & Mary Etta's son, Sephus Youmans, was my maternal grandfather. All of this is information from my aunts & mom (Sephus & Winey Love Youmans' daughters). I grew up next door to Emanuel County, in Treutlen County. My aunts are still in Emanuel County.
