Blair;
In comparing your Conrad's with mine I noticed your site has Anna Maria Conrad dob: 10/24/1792 has two sets of parents listed:
Lorenz Conrad & Elizabeth Himmelman
and
Lorenz Conrad & Maria Elizabeth Zinck
I wondered if it was a mistake or if maybe there was natural parent and adoptive parents??????
Thought I'd mention it in case it was an oversight. Your email link did not work so I do hope you get this.
I do want to thank you for your diligence with your site. I live in the states and being a Conrad your site is the most informative, I double check information with your site frequently. Thank you!!
Janet

Blair:

I have been trying to trace a thread on John Parnell who was married to Elizabeth Crane. Elizabeth was born in 1778 so I decided to search the name John Pennell. I found one who was born in Lunenburg between 1781 and 1786 which seems to be the correct timeframe. Johns parents were Thomas Pennell and Abigail Crosby. Thomas was born in Marblehead Essex Massachusetts in 1746. His father was Mathew Pennel who was born in Cornwall England in 1724. His wifes name was Agnes or Anse Trefry.

Is it possible that John Parnell is actually John Pennell and the spelling just got changed?

I wish that it were larger and could include vital statistics for more early settlers of Port Medway, Petitie riviere. However,I am very grateful for the info you have amassed, and I have found siblings to add to my late husband's line, many of them from his early Plymouth, Mass. ancestors--Freemans, Hallets, Kemptons, Smiths, Fosters, Tuckers, etc. This and Perkins Diary are great.LD

His Mother's ancestors were the early German farming families in Nova Scotia in Hants.etc VON GORKUMS, FRAELICH, COLLICUTS, SPEISS,SOME SWISS ANCESTORS, PLUS FIVE LINES OF ARMSTRONGS FROM LONDONDERRY, IRELAND , POSSIBLY SCOTS OR NATIVE BORN IRISH. MY HUSBAND'S LINE ALSO INCLUDED CAPT. JOHN GALLUP OF GALLOP'S ISLAND IN BOSTON HARBOR. THAT'S WHY I WAS RECHECKING THE GALLOP LINE, AS I MISPLACED EARLY GENEALOGY CHART. Martin was my Great Grandfather. Family story goes back to Johann Heinrich (Murdoch), son George (wife Miss Heffler)Also includes a Philip who had a halfway house on Windsor Rd.. Your site shows Martin descended from Johann Daniel instead, via son John Phillip Henrich (1761), son John Philip Henry(1788). Family story also says our ancestor, George, son of j. Heinrich (Murdock) was first child baptized in Little Dutch Church on Brunswick St. Any way to check on any of this??

James drowned at sea when he was only 27 and Mary married George Bezanson. I think you have Anthony Vaughan as Annie's father. Anyway, great work

Your web site has given me a direction on the McKinnons but am unable to find any sources on Nathaniel McKinnon or Lydia Ann Harrington (Florence's parents). I have also been unable to find anything beyond Willard Sweetser (parents were born in Canada). On the Bowens, I have not been able to get beyond Clifford O Bowen (b. 3 April 1899 in Massachusetts). I did get some new information I did not have. I have about 12,000 names in my data base but still have not find the ancestor I am looking for. If I can help you, please let me know as I appreciate what I got from your site. Mine is all on family tree maker. I am looking for a birth of a Ronald/Ranald McKinnon, born abt 1850 somewhere in NS. Hence all my looking. His father may be William as that is what he named his first child and I am guessing he descended from Gregor in NB as he had a son William that disappeared for awhile and then came back as did Ronald but records just not good in that period. They were Protestants. I had thought for awhile that his ancestor mightRanald from the Argyle area and he does have a loose William too but I will keep on looking. I even have some in PEI as well as affiliate families so let me know if I can help./ Thanks again. Sally

I've been searching for information on Minetta Zinck and Henry Burgoyne since uncovering a family photo of them from 1932.

I am descended from Minetta's brother Thomas Zinck. Their father was John not Johann Peter. I have lots of documentation.

I'm trying to figure out why Henry and Minetta moved to Sandford, NS between 1901 and 1911. There was a George Burgoyne married to Amelia there. Perhaps that was a brother/cousin/uncle?

Would you have any ideas?

Thanks

This site is amazing in it's detail! I found this quite by accident and was pleasantly surprised. I have run into many roadblocks while helping a friend try to find his family-Fralics from Liverpool-and this was a gem! I'm trying to connect Joseph Fralic's family. This has been difficult bcause, as far as we know, all senior family members are gone. If there is anyone who can help me I would love to hear from you. She married St. Clare Leopold, in 1901. He died in 1951.

I was researching my fathers/grandfathers ancestors and had hit a dead-end with my grandfather (Michael Ernest McKinnon) who died in Digby shortly after I was born. I recently found an extract of his obituary on the Digby genweb site and it indicated he "was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Smith MACKINNON of Mill village , Queens Co.". I had not been able to find anything furteh until I stumbled onto your web site, and there he was! It seems that Smith Harrison McKinnon was also your grandmother's great grandfather (or something like that). I would love to hear from you and find out more about these ancestors. I was amazed to discover that they were originally McKenney's and changed their name to McKinnon. I could certainly help you fill in some of the blanks on my grandfathers side (I believe I still have a cousin Dorothy in Digby and definitly some of her sons/daughters still live in NS).

Please send me an email.

What part of my website do you find the most interesting? My surname information
Comments:
Your site is well put together and easy to read. It was a pleasure to be able to go through it easily. If I can help with the Covell family in any way, please let me know. I have not finished mine as yet but I do have my line back to Nathaniel in Chelmsford, Essex, England.

Comments:
I wanted to thank you for so much information to help in my family tree search. My grandparents were Cross's and Baker's so you can see we follow some of the same lines. My grandmother is Carrie Cross of Tancook her father was William Cross whose father was Charles Cross b. 1838 (who you have). My grandfather was Vincent Baker of Jeddore whose father was Melvin Baker whose father was Stephen Becker of Tancook whose father was Johann Frederick Becker b. 1813 who you have listed. If any of this information is helpful let me know. Thank you. Charlane Hall
