Willim Chaney's (1774 Clavert Co, MD) children were: Rebeca 1800, Lewis 1802, James 1808, John 1811, Thomas 1814, Abel 1816, Henry 1818 (my direct ancestor)and Phoebe Ann 1823. William's wife was Phoebe Ann Wilkinson married 1798. Moved to Butler Co, OH in 1816. William died in Butler Co, OH 1834, Phoebe Ann nee Wilkinson died in Clinton Co., IN 1843. Some of family remained in Butler Co, OH when they moved after Willima's death, some remained in Clinton Co, In and balance moved to Clay Co, IL in 1853. Some then moved further west, i.e., Ks, OR, Utah, MO. My ancestry is William Chaney 1774, Henry 1818, Noah Bunnell 1847, Otto 1874, Fred 1910 then me 1941. In 1800 census of Calvert Co, MD shown were William, Sr. and William, Jr. William, Jr. is the right age for my ancestor with the correct info. Can't find any thing on William, Sr.

My mother's maiden name was Ramey and her father's family was from Strasberg, VA. It looks like we are related through William Ramey, Sr. as I have traced my lineage back to Thaddeus Matthew Ramey, one of William Ramey, Jr.'s sons. I have seen the information on the Ramey's in other locations, but yours is organized in such a fashion that it is easy to follow. Thank you for all of your work in putting this together. If there is any information I can provide on Thaddeus and his descendents, please let me know

Matthew Belcher married Mary Ann Rainwater 8 March 1869 Campbell County, GA. This I know from the Soc Sec app. for my grandfather Parker Belcher born 26 Jan 1889 Campbell Co, GA. Found Mary living with son H. B. Belcher on 1900 Census, as widow. Have not been able to establish who is Matthew's father. There is a Moses Belcher 1880 Census Campbell Co, GA with a Matthew listed as age 10, but that cannot be my Matthew as he married in 1869. Have hit a brick wall! Does anyone know who is the father of Matthew Belcher?
