I may be sending this to someone I don't know. the first things is the fact that u moved away from the country u were raised in. That makes you wrong for doing just that! There is nowhere like East kentucky and Letcher county. I chose to stay here and raise 4 kids and have done pretty well for myself. I graduated from Beechwood in 1953 and my brother, Bert, graduated in 1949, my first cousin, Bill, in 1952. In 2003, my husband, Jim, and I revisited Beechwood, and made our own '50th Reunion.' I was his own personal travel guide, showing him all of No. Ky. and all of the grand old sites. Too bad the Kanebrake isn't still there, as that was such a fun place to go after basketball and football games.
