Today I reviewed something I had printed out back in 2006: your "Climbing My Family Tree" blog from 7/16/2006 which contained interesting info about my Sweet family. Of special interest was the final para about the Hutchinson County, South Dakota Territorial Census whereas, you noted, the family was "listed as Lout." Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to search for "Sweet" under the name "Lout." Sure enough, I found the census and my family with your clue. Thank you! Seeing the handwriting it was easy to see how an indexer could have made that Lout vs Sweet error. This is the first public doc I've seen that places the family in/near Olivet, DT. By the way, my grandfather was Wesley Preserved Sweet, b. 2 Sep 1883. For your records, he died of chronic bronchitis 21 Jun 1942 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. He is buried at Mt. Calvery Catholic Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. He and Nellie Mootz were married in Everett, Snohomish, Washington on 20 Feb 1912. The "Sweet Family Articles" included on your site, were very interesting. I am aware of the family's plight in the 1888 blizzard, but did not know about the land and house donations made to them. Wow! Thanks, again.
Regards,
Jim Sweet

Hello from snowy Alaska! I am the great-granddaughter of Dr. Joseph Romig and Ella Romig, Moravian missionaries that settled in Alaska in 1897. Lots of great history on them, and a school named after Dr. Romig in Anchorage. They traveled by dog sled from village to village, one of the 1st doctors up here, along with his son, my grandfather, Dr. Howard Romig. Books: "Dog Team Doctor" and "When the Geese Fly Home" are two to start with. Hope this helps!

Hi...
I was very interested in your info and questions about Cooper and Mary. I'm not convinced my Cooper married Mary Sackett, though he did marry a Mary.
I am descended from Jason Blakeslee, son of Cooper and Mary, born 25 June 1823 in New Marlborough MA, married in 1847 in Lake County OH. I know a lot about Jason, and some about his siblings. Also know about a Utley with them.
I don't manage to email you...so I hope you will connect with me.

Hello cousin. I am Oliver (Bert) Warren's youngest grandson. I am the youngest son of Harold. As you know Dad was the youngest son of Oliver. My twin sister Jennifer and I were raised in our early years by Granpa Bert. He was a parent to us. I very much enjoyed seeing the photos of him. I'm thinking Jenny might have supplied one or twoof them. I'm sorry you were not informed of cousin Hervey's services. My eldest sister Katherine and I attended. I would have enjoyed meeting you. We had lunch following the service with our first cousin Helen (youngest daughter of Mable) and her husband Andy Romig. Keep up the great work.
Name: Julie Gabriele <julie@gabrielefamilytree.com> Date: 2005-03-05 Earliest Known Ancestor Andrew Piskura They were from Austria-Hungary or Czechoslovakia Born about 1840s? Comments:
My great-great-grandparents were Andrew and Anna (Chernish or Cherniski) Piskura, and I know of six of their children: Peter (b. bef. 1869), Andrew (b. abt. 1869), John (b. abt. 1874), Paul (b. abt. 1875), Stephen (b. abt. 1885), and Frank (b. abt. 1886). Their country of birth has been reported as Austria-Hungary and Czechoslovakia, and a few records have said their home town was Brezniece (or similar spellings.) They settled in Bridgeport and Brookfield, Connecticut. Do you know of any relation to your grandmother?

I have been trying TRYING to get postive information on my Great Grandfather ERASTUS Warren and wife Lucy Look for some time - I am 76 yrs old and rather late to be taking SeniorCitizen genealogy (Legacy) classes, but I keep hoping that I will break the wall down. I think I have found the hangup-it seems Schroon, Essex County, NY and Killing, Windham,CT have lost records and I think my Warren was in there somewhere= tho I know he lived in Michigan died there.
You are in Vancouver??? I will be in Porland the first of Sept for my 77th birthday with my son and his wife.
Warren Douglass and his wife Lynette live in Aloha. I can hardly wait to see them.
I know some Warren's (and I think my Grandfather Joel and wife Sarah Margaret Scott lived for a time in Oregon, as well as other Warrens that I knew little of.)
