I am searching for the burial site of my paternal grandmother, Carrie booth Boone who married Martin (Mart) Hammons in 1902. She died aboout 1908. My dad said she was buried in Sadieville, but I remember the cemetery being on the side of the road, with a big white house next to it where his aunt, elizabeth Woods lived. I just recently found out that the cemetery could be called "The Skinner Family Cemetery".And I think it might be closer to Corinth in Grant County. I can not find a death record for her but I know she died when my dad was ab out 3 years old. Her oparents were Jesse Boone and Zilpha anne skinner Boone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a great site. Maybe next year I can get information and pictures for you on the Kinman cemetery, which is actually the Wilson Cemetery. The cemetery was in a parcel of land Hiram left in his will to his daughter, Mary Ann Wilson who married James John Kinman.Hiram and his wife are said to be buried there, too, but their graves were only marked by rocks. I live Indiana, but we go to the cemetery for Memorial Day.

Somebody suggested baking floor to read the tombstones. We have found that shaving cream works great. With the rain it washes away. I carry a can in my trunk I never know when I am going to be out with my Mom and we might run across a cemetary we want to check out. Just running to the library or something and see one on the way.

Kerry,

Thank you so much for this wonderful resource. You have helped me clear up some misinformation that I had obtained from other sources. Actually seeing pictures of the gravestones and being able to read the dates on them eliminates errors made by others in their research.

Thanks again,
Tom Dietz

Fantastic site. I just wish I had been able to locate some of my ancestors on this site. However, since my older relatives have no idea as to where there ancestors are buried, the best I have been able to do is to locate sone tax records for Grant County from 1824 to 1829. they must have then moved on or died/ Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much for your site!
I am a GC native and my family still lives there. Most of my relatives are buried in Clarks Creek Church Cemtery, Mt Zion, New Vine Run and Williamstown Cemeteries.
Here's a tip for reading some of those old mildewed, broken heastones: Take some baking flour with you and rub into the stone. It;ll make it much easier to read the lettering. It doesn'r harm the stone itself.

This is a work in progress and a beautiful one two. You are appreciated by those who are searching for there roots.

My grandparents - Benjamin Franklin Wright and wife Hattie Thornton Wright , along with many cousins are here in the Jonesville Cemetery.

I look forward to seeing there names listed one day, for all to see and use for putting together their family history.

If I can be of help let me know how.

Several are buried in Cherry Creek Cemetery. 4 of the Gouges married into the Tomas Clark family (including Thomas Jefferson Gouge). He and his wife and his son (who also married a Gouge) are also buried in Cherry Creek.

If anyone has any information on a Kavanaugh b. 1839 it would be appreciated.
