I don't recall how I found the Trenbath site, but Philip S Trenbath was a friend of my father,Philip C Stoll,of SC(also a lawyer). When I was 18,I went to the 1964 NY Worlds Fair. My dad wrote "Philip S Trenbath-Schroder Trust" on a piece of yellow legal paper and gave it to me.He said if I got in trouble or needed help in NY to call Mr.Trenbath. I never had to call him.Wish I had met him, however.

I am the daughter of Edward Buff, Captain of the Viemas. In my quest to find references and information on the whereabouts of my first "home", I found your wonderful account of that 1st Atlantic crossing and voyage in 1958! My desire was also to learn more about my father as a young man as I have often thought my mother's account biased and my memory of my father does not include my adult years, during which we were estranged. Please feel free to contact me as I would so love to communicate further.
With warm regards,
Estere du Boulay

I enjoyed the site but was disappointed that my Great Grandmother Mary Thompson (nee Trenbath) daughter of George Trenbath (town clerk of Eccles) had her details confused with her sister. Mary Thompson (nee Trenbath) was born in 1876 and died in Worksop, Notts in 1977.

I am returning to your site...I seem to have my TRENBATH information under Derek Tanner (my son-in-law's computer.) I have done much searching for my great grandfather Henry TRENBATH b. abt. 1844 Illogan Cornwall. Well, I finally found him - and the news is not at all what I expected. Here are some details:
Name: Thomas Henry TREMBATH (aka Henry T. TREMBATH)
Birth: abt. 1841 Illogan/ Redruth Cornwall Eng.
Australian Convict Transportation Registers - Other Fleets & Ships, 1791-1868:
Convicted Date: 18 Mar 1863
Voyage Date: 29 Jun 1864
Colony: Western Australia
Place of Conviction: Cornwall
He served 8 years and, with a pardon, arrived in Lyttleton N.Z. by the barque Queen of the South from Swan River in May/ June 1871 under the name Henry TRENBATH (Ref. paperspast.com)
So now, because I cannot find him on any census records, I am wondering if he is not your Thomas TRENBATH born 1841 Redruth?

As a retired person I now have occasion to follow Google into the sunset and found your website this a.m. It is wonderful and has so much info, although I was a TreMbath by birth.
I have found a Trembath farm and mill near Penzance and also a Trembath post on the road near the path to the farm. I found the reference to the other Trenbath post very interesting.

I was very impressed with your website covering the genealogy of trenbath family and have been looking through this with my daughter.
My father was John William Trenbath and my mother was Margaret Booth.
I was born on the 17th of May 1939 and married Ernest Fitton on the 22nd of October 1960.
I had two daughters.
1. Deborah Ann born 8th December 1964 married 2001 to Mr Paul Gailey they have one son born in Jul 02 Alexander Xavier.

Paul James Lacey 25/3/86
Leanne Lacey 13/3/1990

I found your website as I was trying to see if I could find some info about my mother as her family disowned her when she married my father.
As to your note re my father he was only married to my mother although in his later life he lived with a woman called Betty for about 20 years a few years after my mother had died.

Recommended by Pat Geary (who is helping me upgrade my genealogy), I was fascinated by your 1958 narrative of the Atlantic crossing.
I was born in 1929 (NY, USA)and owned various sailboats most of my life. I remember being in port on on NC coast when a single hander, about 23' long came in. He was age 72 (about 1975), England, and had just finished his final leg from the Med. He was a stock-broker and 4 years earlier he was told by doctor that he had about a year left and should do whatever he dreamed of. In Africa he became friends with a Chicago family with 2 young children who traveled in a large catamaran sailboat. The dad was an electronic engineer who made money doing maintenance in various ports. Wife taught music and had an electronic organ on board (as well as his work-shop. They helped the Englishman buy a small sloop he learned to sail by following them around the Med and then back to U.S.
Sorry, I make an entry on your guestbook and end up writing a book of my own.
My genealogy is also on freepages but is so boring and poorly done, I'm ashamed to give you the URL.
I hope I can make it as interesting as yours.

Benjamin Trembath (b. Abt. 1825) married Ann Eddy at Sithney parish 09/07/1845. they had one child, Mary, and came to Amador County in the states. Ben's father was Jonh, who married Thomasine Williams.
Can anybody work that one back?
We deeply appreciate the name Trembath and have named our Ranch "Trembath Mountain Ranch". Our Amador County has recognized our Trembath ancestors by naming our hill "Trembath Mountain" and we hope to make that a U.S. Geographic Place Name in honor or our family and hard Rock miners in the US.
We really enjoy meeting people and would especially be interested in meeting Trembaths, etc.
our ranch site is www.minihighlandcattle.com and a history of our Trembath ancestors is on that site.

Hello! My TREMBATH family are the West Penwith folk. The earliest marriage I have is from MORVAH in 1618 and the line continues down to my gt.gt.g'parents coming to Australia in 1849. I've been working on this for 30 years or so, and am just putting it all together for my family. It's nice to know there are a more connections in many places.

My father was John Robert Henry Trenbath. Born 19 September 1905 - Christchurch New Zealand: died 18 June 1954 (drowned at sea)- Whakatane, New Zealand. His father was John Henry Trenbath: a cabinetmaker from Kaiti, New Zealand. He married Robina Trenbath about 1880. I am not at my home site at present to give more details but will do so this evening. I am very keen to do 'this family' tree thing. My mother fed me stories about our family coming from Red Roof St. Ives???
