A Pineville man was killed early Sunday morning when the truck he was driving ran off the road and onto the grounds of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pineville (LA). <parg> Christopher NIPPER, 31,of 114 Donahue Ferry was driving south on U.S. Highway 71 around 12:25 a.m. when he lost control of his truck in a right-hand curve, State police Troop E. said. <parg> Nipper's 1991 Ford pickup truck went off the roadway and onto the hospital grounds. <parg> The truck flipped three times and struck a light pole. <parg> Nipper was pronounced dead at teh scene. <parg> Alcohol and speed were cited as primary factors in the accident, police said. Nipper was not wearing his seat belt. (END)

Her job in Civil Service at Robins provided her with travel to Greece and London. Patsy was an avid reader with a love for travel. She returned in September from a cruise to the Virgin Islands with family and friends providing many lasting memories for all to treasure. She was a special person noted for her thoughtfulness and always putting the wants and needs of others ahead of her own. She was always doing for everyone without expecting anything in return. Her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy and doted on spoiling them. Patsy taught her family many lessons on living to the fullest and respecting others. The correct spelling for his name, used on previous marriages and documents, was BOLAN. We do not know why he later added the 'D'.
He m. three times: Lucile LACEY (m. bef. 1924 - d. 1925) by whom he had his only child, Ruby Lee BOLAN. Secondly, he married her sister: Pearl LACEY ( m. abt. 1928 - d. 1930. Thirdly he m. (1944)Ethel SKIPPER Jackson, widow of Horace JACKSON who died in an automobile accident in Fort Valley, GA in 1943.

Mr. C.B.Barfield, 77, Dies at Daughter's Home Here Last Sunday A.M. - Mr. C. B. Barfield, 77 years of age, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grady James in this city Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock. His death was attributed to pneumonia from which he had suffered only about three days. <parg> Mr. Barfield was born Aug. 12, 1867, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Barfield of this county. He was a member of the Cedar Valley Baptist Church. <parg> Funeral services for Mr. Barfield were held at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist church near Butler Monday at 3 p.m. Rev. J. L. Harrison, 80, Passes After Long Illness; Rites April 27.
Funeral services for James Leon Harrison, 80, retired Montezuma businessman and farmer, were conducted from the chapel of the Smith-Tindol Funeral Home Friday, April 27. The Rev. Steve Johnson officiated and interment was in FELTON CEMETERY.
Pallbearers were Yancy Hill, Sr., Tom Marshall, G. T. Mason; Perry Johnson, E. W. Johnson and Albert Porch.
A life-long resident of Montezuma, Mrs. Harrison passed away April 26, after an extended illness.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Pearl Perry of Montezuma; several nieces and one nephew.
Smith-Tindol Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
