Peter Nelson was married to Anne Hustrue (both buried at the Admah Cemetery). Anne passed away March 17, 1887. After Anne passed away, Peter was left with three
children. He hired a housekeeper (Bertha Rasmussen to keep house and care for his children. Peter and Bertha were married October 25, 1887. He was 35 years old and she was 16. The marriage lasted until 1890. It is not known whether there was a divorce. Peter became ill, was treated at Immanuel Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, and eventually passed away there July 23, 1891. His death certificate indicates he had a spinal disease. He lists that he is married on his death certificate. Bertha Rasmussen was my great grandmother. I have been researching my family's history for over 10 years. Nels Petersen is my great grandfather (buried in West Admah Cemetery). My grandfather was Emil Petersen (buried in Hooper Cemetery). My father was Victor Petersen (buried in the Hooper Cemetery).
I have often wondered what ever happened to the children. Their father and mother had both passed away and Bertha hadn't lived at the residence for over a year. Thomas would have been 16, Christeen 13 and Nels 12. If you need any records or additional information, please contact me at my e-mail address. Thank you.

I am the current President of the West Admah Cemetery Assn. We have a meeting the Sunday before Memorial Day each year at 2 p.m. in the cemetery. I was surprised to find this information on the internet. Do you have any ties to the West Admah Cemetery? You have done a great job on this and enjoyed reading the obituaries. I am listed under Leslie and Ella's Lauersen obituaries - married to Don Tucker,
I have one correction - children Leslie (should be Lesli (no e). Son Jon is spelled OK.
