My Ggrandmother Alice Malinda McBride and her brother were raised by her aunt Caroline Wilson Tharp (married to Jonathan Brady Tharp)in Oregon & Columbia County Washington following the death of their parents John & Harriett (Wilson) McBride in 1867 & 1868. Their relationship was very close. So even though I am not related by blood I have done a lot of Tharp family research.

John and Rebecca had 8 or 9 children..worked in farming, probably tabacco. worked 80 ac in KY. a place called Baghdad.

I am looking for info on the family of Eliza Thorp(e) who married Fitch Bradford Comstock in Buffalo, NY, 1833. They settled in Sandstone twp. Jackson, Co., Parma, MI. Have documentaion indicating they were there by 1834. These are my g-ggrandparents. I have the Comstock line to the 1 500's but first reference to Eliza is 1833 marriage in Buffalo. The marriage record shows without the "e", but all following records are with the "e".
