Amy: I am so confused on this Indian bloodline. I have given up after having come to so many Deadends.
You don't happen by chance to know Sarah Morgans parents names. I can only think if there was a Cherokee Blood line it would have started fromthere

George Auther Steele's family line is listed in the "History of Dodge County, Georgia 1932-1992 vol." I thought you would like this information. Some of the very beginning information about the Steele's in S.C. is from family verbal history and I can't confirm. There is an interresting story about Gen. Sherman and Mary Woodfin Steele if you are interrested. Carol

I was searching for informaton on my paternal grandmother. You have her listed on the Allen page, but her name is misspelled. She was a daughter of Sarah Shockey and her name was Ordath not Ordail. She died in 1993. I'm interested in the Allen reunion photos. How did you get them? I tried to send you an email but my computer was having trouble with the link, so I hope you get this. I might have some more information on the Allens, since I believe my father has my grandmother's bible.

How did you find this site Ancestry.com
Comments:
Hi!
Thought I would give you a correction. Sarah Ann Norman's birthdate is 30 July 2835 in Indiana. It could be Wabash Co., Indiana, but no documentation of this. This is the date that she gave on her husband's Civil War Records.
Also, the U.S. Fed. Census bears this out also.
By any chance do have any other documentation for John R. Norman ?
Thanks for your site.

My relatives are Wood family who lived in Rush Co. In and later moved to Grant Co. My GGG Grandfather was John Wood b. 1791 VA. I believe one of his sons (John b.1825 KY) is in your line. John Wood 1791 also had George and Ephraim b.1823 KY (my GG Grandfather)as well as daughters Mary, Margeret, and Elizabeth. Could you help me? Is there a Wood bible somewhere in your families of John Wood? I am trying to find out who the parents of John 1791 were. At a dead end.
As you know John 1791 married Elizabeth Kiser in 1814 in KY. Eliz K. parents were Jacob Kiser and Elizabeth Wood b.1767 I believe.....wonder who her parents were...maybe a tie in somehow. Can you please email me. Thank you so much.

What surname are you researching Browne
How did you find this site From a Google site
Comments:
My Browne family started with the Richard Browne/Mary Masters of Puddington England and their sons William & James future residents of Wrightsboro.. I guess I'm concentrating more on the English side which is so complex..after all the Betchworth Brownes descended from Thomas and Eleanor and they had seven sons and there were an awful lot of Johns and Francis's mixed in which means we have just one tantalising link to lock the entire family in place, and every clue we find opens the door to more and more probabilities and the possibility that perhaps we're going up the wrong garden path.. but I do envy your professionalism and only wish I had joined the "Net" searchers a lot earlier than the three months ago that I did.. My grandfather Charles who was really Bert Brown from Pulaski County in Indiana started me on what has become an obsession and quite possibly you're Brownes in Indiana are cousins of my Brownes ..it is indeed a small world..many thanks..

Amy, My husband is directly related to George Washington Allen, b. 7 Aug 1891 in Cane River, Yancy Co. NC to John Wesley Allen (b.abt Aug 1858) and Sarah Kate Wilson (b. abt May 1867) they were married 18 Dec 1884 in Yancy Co., NC.
Sadly George was hit by a car while crossing the street here in Coronado, CA and died 20 Mar 1980. George or Skipper as he was called, joined the USNavy...and served in both world wars. His book is "Seaman to Admarial/Sails to Atoms". If your research includes this line, I would really appreaciate any information.
