My Great Grandfather was Robert Webster, brother of Alexander Webster married to Eleanor Ormrod and who died "drowned on horseback crossing sands at Low Foulshaw". I have been researching the Webster Family Tree for many years and this now covers 29 A4 sheets when printed out. If you are interested I would send you a copy of this. I am always interested to contact any member of the family. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello. I'm Phil Ormrod now living in Dublin. Currently the only Ormrod Family in Ireland ( and for most of the last 36 years ).
I am working on my branch of the Oldham Ormrod's and currently have the tree fixed back to 1752.
I am expecting to eventually link up with the first known Oliver Ormrod who no doubt was descended from the Viking Orm. If you have any pre 1752 Ormrod information I'd be glad to hear from you.
Best Regards,
Philip Ormrod.

Hi there, will be in touch shortly with some additions and amendments for the family tree. We have been in touch before and can now confirm that we are distantly related through Richard Ormrod.

I have researched the soldiers from Millrook, Stalybridge where the Ormrods from Carmel settled: father Richard, Bertie was killed in WW1, William, Edith, Marjorie, Mary Maud, Lizzie & twins Ethel & Ernest [who was killed in WW2]. They lived at 31, Grafton St before moving to 22,Stamford St. A neighbour of mine knew the family well when she was a child. I have a suspicion that the other family queried was also a Millbrook one, Mary appears quite often in the list of that family's names. I hope that this helps.

Very interesting site. I think our lot of Ormrods are from the east Lancs Oliver Ormrod line although i am not sure of this yet.
As a matter of interest my father used to run a engineers merchants in Milnthorpe in the 1970's, and i have an Aunt who lives in the area.

Just come across your website by accident - I am just hoping there is a family connection.
I am tracing my father's family. My great grandfather William Ormrod was born in Gressingham near Hornby in 1846/1847 ? He had a brother John born 1849. I am not sure if there were any more siblings. Their parents were William and Margaret Ormrod ( I think William was born at Greenbank near Tatham - but not 100% sure)

My father, Raymond Ditchfield Ormrod was born in Ashton under lyne in 1904 and spent alot of his youth at one of the Foulshaw farms. William Garnett Ormrod did farm one of these farms and his daughter Margaret, who is now in her eighties gave me lots of information about her father's family. His parents were William and Mary Ormrod and her father was Harry Ormrod,17 years old in 1901(as census)

I feel sure there is a strong connection. Perhaps you could e-mail me sometime - thanks
