I love history. On your sight you have so many neat historical Pic'a and information. I'm trying to find pic's and information on the old Funeral home in Warsaw Kentucky. It was built in 1875, and is located on the back side of West High street. The adress is 303 West High St. I can't seem to find any information on this building, but I know it's a historical building and there has to be some info. somewhere. If you have any, please contact me. Thanks.

Gallatin county history is full of interesting stories, people and relationships. Sadly much of this is now resident in the cemetery. Dr. Bogardus and Sue did much to preserve Gallatin and river history. Soon that may be lost too. The old cemetery across from the library is all but vanished too. Thanks for listening. Monty

Comments:
I am searching for the burial site for Joseph Nelson, whose will was probated in 1841 in Gallatin County. It appears that he and his son James Nelson (wife Almira Sebastian) operated a ferry between Warsaw and Vevay, Indiana. Would also like to find a death date and burial site for Joseph's wife Nancy (Drake) Nelson. She is the daughter of Benjamine and Hannah Drake who founded what is now Florence, IN. Nancy is not mentioned in Joseph's will, so I presume she died before him. Thanks much!

My brother and I were raised by my grandparents on Main St in Warsaw, half a block from the courthouse, and most of my ancestors are buried in the cemetery. My grandmother (Elizabeth Edwards Hardin) was a Kentucky Colonel, and active in the Historical Society (she liked to call it "hysterical scoiety"). Even though I've lived many years in Florida, I still like to keep in touch with my roots in Warsaw.
