I am looking for my connection here. My grandmother was Martha Emiline Robison, her mother was a Sherrell that married a Robinson he was 3/4 Osage (don't know any first name) they had Jack Robinson, (who was killed in a lead mine) John Robinson, Lizzie Robinson, Martha (my ggrandmother) she married Samuel Hamilton of Pulaski County Mo., Minnie Robinson and Mary Robinson. Mary was taken out of the front yard one Sunday morning, by the Osage when she was 7 years old, and was never seen again. Story goes they were so poor they thought she might be better off with the Osage. If anyone knows anything at all I really would appreciate it. Brenda

The spelling of our family name changed arround the early 1800's. My great-grandfather purchased some land in Knoxville, Tn. and the attorney misspelled the name on the deed as Shearl. So my great grandfather kept the name as it was spelled on the deed. If any one out there can help me go back any further please contact me. My uncles say that this branch of Sherrills is related to Catherine Sherrill Sevier the second wife of Jonh Sevier. Can you help.....

I have just begun looking for my ancestors. My father was Carl Tony Sherrill, Sr., of Concord, NC. He died November 7, 1994 in Concord, NC.
My mother is Marie Blandina Helms Sherrill, daughter of Floyd Hampton Helms and Lela Hinson Helms, also of Concord, NC. The Helmses were from Mint Hill, NC < Concord, NC. Floyd Helms died in May, 1971; Lela died in October, 1968.
My father always said the first Sherrill in our line was Adam, who came from "Pennsylvania or Maryland, or somewhere," and settled in Sherrill's Ford, NC. We thought he was putting us on with "Adam."
Any suggestions about where to begin?

Seek parents of Nancy SHIRILL who married 25 Sep 1833 Andrew J. ROGERS in Shelby County, Illinois. The marriage license was issured "upon the oath of David SHERILL & certificate of Thomas ROGERS."
I know Thomas ROGERS was the father of Andrew J., but I don't know David SHERILL's relation to Nancy. Also in Shelby Co., Ill. a David SHERILL married 22 Jun 1844 to Eady GREEN and a William SHERELL married 6 Feb 1844 (date shows as 4 Feb 1832 another place) to Sarah Austin. Don't know if they relate to David and Nancy Sherill.
