I'm the little girl who lived next door. Jimmy was my friend. I played some with his brothers, Mike, David and Mark. I remember Carol, as she was friends with my Mom, Mamie. I found this newspaper clipping about Jimmy in my mother's old jewelry box and wanted to see if I could find any member's of the family. Hope this is the one. I'm on facebook.

I really enjoyed the article about Andrew Jackson Archer, and the photos. However, I wanted to point out some incorrect information elsewhere on the web site. Melvin Leroy Archer, son of James H. Archer, grandson of Andrew Archer, is also my grandfather. The birth and death dates you have for him are wrong - those dates are from a different Melvin Archer. The correct dates are 31 Jan 1911 and 27 June 1939. He was killed in a construction accident when he was only 28, so I never knew him. Also, as far as I know, his sisters Barbara and Waneta are still living!

I have a sense that the Chapmans, Gardners, and Culpeppers were related fairly closely to my early Deans (Richard b. 1760 in Nash Co, NC). There are a number of Chapmans on early Dean documents in Washington, Laurens, Jasper, etc, counties in Georgia. I am also looking for the parents of Francis T. Delk b. 1807 who married Richard Dean's grandson Bryant W. Steely in Crawford Co, GA, in 1838.

Thanks,

Sharon

Hi:
Very nice site. I also spend many hours a day doing Chapman genealogy. My "Chappies" are off of Edward Chapman who came to this great country abt 1638 and settled in Ipswich, Mass. His descendants spread all over the U.S. including myself (Anaheim, Ca.) I enjoy doing famous or semi-famous Chapmans. Just finished with Victor Emmanuel Chapman, who was the first pilot of W.W.I shot down and killed in a dog-fight.

Would like to know more about your Mary Jane Sykes Lane Harper and Joseph E. Lane. I think We may be kin in this line. I have been doing research on my Lane Family and have come to a stumbling block in my research. I know for a fact the the Mary Harper that was married to Malachi Harper is for sure because on my gg grandfather's death certificate it lists Sam Lane as the father and Mary Harper as the mother but I think they accidentally put the grandmother's name because by my research Sam Lane was married to Eliza Causey. Here is my line if you would like it

Mandy Lane DesFonds-myself
Bill Erskine Lane and Rulane Virginia Cook- parents
Julian Erskine Lane and Bertha Beatrice McCarter- grandparents
Lonnie Lee Lane and Annie Tanner- g grandparents
Thomas Joseph Lane and Mary Louise Richardson - gg grandparents
Samuel N. Lane and Eliza Causey- ggg grandparents
Joseph E. Lane and Mary Jane Sykes- gggg grandparents

Bill- born NC
Julian- born NC buried SC
Lonnie- born GA buried SC
Thomas- born GA buried SC
Samuel- born ? buried ?
Joseph- born ? buried ?

Any help or information will be greatly appreciated.

I would like to find any information about John's father and mother. It is thought that John's mother may have been a Tyree. "Please" if you or any one else can help me, contact me at chap6206@bellsouth.net.
I really need help on this one.
