Posted this request on your query board several months ago and have additions to make - Help!! I have been trying to compose my family trees. Looking for a Banqhardt/Banghardt DeWitt who married Maria(h) Taylor. Have done searches and queries everywhere and no luck. (I know there was a person by that name, listed on son's death certificate.) Banghardt and Maria(h) were married in 1834 (not 1828)in Dearborn County, Indiana and had several children (totaling 9) - William George, Mary, Martha, Cornelius, and Sarah Catherine. I also had been told that we were related to President Zachary Taylor. Had also been told that our family consisted of English/Irish/French/Indian heritage. My ggrandmother Mary A Dewitt married John Dickson/Dixon and her sister Sarah Catherine Dewitt married a Webster then a Clear and finally a Porteous/Ponteous.
Too many things are the same in both of our familys just can't find the connection. A ancestor of Sarah Catherine Dewitt has also been doing research and she also have come to a dead end with Banghardt. Any help that you can give me on this would be GREATLY GREATLY appreciated!!! Hope to hear from you. Your website is fantastic!

Kellie -
Love your web site!
My Aunt was the familt historian and she passed most of her notes off to my older sister a few years back. Since then, we've lost both my Aunt and my Dad. The family history was something that we all liked to chat about. Now that they're gone, I've been rummaging through some of her notes and files. I made a crude list as I went simply to keep the names straight. Now whenever I get some free time, I poke around on the internet to see what connections I can find. You have quite a bit of BALL surnames on your website and I THINK I've found a connection. The trail for us appears to runs through your Colonel William Ball - Capt William Ball - William Ball - Samuel Ball - Benjamin Ball - James Ball which matches the notes I have on a James Ball (same place and dates) where we have pieced together Census and family records down to our generation. I would LOVE to see the reference material to the lineages you're showing. My sister is always a bit skeptical of what I find on the internet (grins) and is always pumping me for the records reference. I just like to see old stuff. (grins again)
Anway, would love to see the detail behind the lineages you show for the BALL surname. You have a lot put together here. Just the volume of what you have in one place is REALLY impressive. Send me a note if you ever get a chance.

My great, great grandfather was Larkin DeWitt, born in 1794. My grandfather was Benjamin Franklin DeWitt, born in 1830 and my grandfather was Joseph Anderson DeWitt. I grew up in the house pictured on your website that was built by Benjamin Franklin DeWitt in the late 1800s. Another picture on the website, the original oval-shaped picture of Benjamin Franklin DeWitt and his wife Permelia Ann (Potter) DeWitt is in a very large, ornate gold frame and is still hanging in that house. The house is approximately one mile from the Potter Cemetery where all of the above mentioned relatives are interred.
I hope to hear from you and find out what the connection is from our past.

Michael is doing a lot of first hand research and requests that we link to his site.
I'm desc. of Dennis, Daniel, Dennis, Thaddeus (the one who m. Miss Sarah Elizabeth Richardson rather than the one who m. Our sons have just arrived for holidays but knew you would like to know about the deed and description of the property. Also George Barber at rootsweb indicates that both Dennis and son Daniel were "Prosecuting Attorneys"... I didn't find any DeWitt connections, but we are related through Georg Willert. Georg, b. 1550, was my 12th Great Grandfather. It's funny to see all the spellings. Ours is spelled Wilhoit. My Grandmother, on my Dad's side, was a Wilhoit. We are all in Michigan.
My branch comes from Conrad Reuben Wilhite, Elijah Wilhite, Jane Wilhite, Mary Jane Wilhoit, James Buchanan Wilhoit, Edith Thelma Wilhoit/Peterson, Jerry Allen Peterson, & then me, Vicki Lyn Peterson Hadfield. We have not been able to find any husbands for Jane Wilhite or her daughter, Mary Jane Wilhoit. We think it's possible that they both had children out of wedlock. My Great Aunt, Joyce Wilhoit Miller, is the one I have gotten most of my info from.
Anyway, it's nice to find relatives that we never knew we had! Take Care - Vicki

It seems my husband is related to everyone in South Carolina. His father is related to the Rogers, McLeods (florence hospital),Twings, Bethea (SC/NC), Dennis, Pate, Cades, etc.
His mother is related to the Lees, Driggers,Cokers, Graham, Powells (SC/NC/Ga), McAlisters,McKensies, McClams,Miles, Yarboroughs, etc
I work at BCBS in Columbia and I teach about 60 people every 6 weeks. I always say, if your ancesters are originally from SC, I bet you I can make us related. And I always do. It is so much fun to see the look on peoples faces when I really do it. SC was such a small state in the beginning and just about all were connected in one way or another. My bestest problem lately geneology wise ; is that even though everyone declares and states on the websites that Arthur Ferney Lee was the 7th son of Richard Lee from the Staton Hall Lees in Virgina; Staton Hall in Virginia doesn't acknowledge him as a son. My husband and I went there recently for a vacation and family reunion and we were very disappointed to see he was not listed on any of their wall charts in the museum, books, or information on the estate. With all the info stating he is related why don't they acknowledge him? Do you know? Do you connect to any of my names above other than the Lees? My husband is also cousins to Robert E. Lee.
do you live in SC? It is great to have someone to talk to about geneology. Also ; I have a subscription to Geneology.com Do you think ancestry.com is better? And do you know anywhere you can go to search to see if you are related to other famous people. I have a BUSH line and I wonder if it is President Bush. Thanks , Pamela

I am in the early process of determining if Margaret Ann Wilhite, daughter of Julius and Margaret Wilhite is the same Margaret Ann who married my GG Grandfather William Roberts and wound up in Tippah Co., Mississippi about 1845. Lots of folks believe Margaret Ann Roberts was in fact Wilhite, but I have no proof--just know that Margaret Ann and William Roberts appeared in Tippah near to Julius Wilhote's son George Wilhite (her brother?)at about the same time.
Great and beautiful website, you are obviously very talented.

We just got a death certificate for Charlie Copeland and it says his parents are Hayden Copeland and Mollie Burrows. There is alot of mispellings on this death certificate. Even the name Copeland is misspelled once on charlie and not his father or wife. This Charlie was born in 1883 Cook Co TX. I really beleave they mispelled his fathers name also. Anyways Charlie died in 1913 so he wasn't with us very long. He had one daughter Ruby Copeland. He married my great great Aunt Nettie Pruitt. They lived in Carter Co. Oklahoma.

Hi - My husband was Sherman Willhite, born 1910 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. His ancestor, Michael Willheit came to Orange County Virginia from Germany in 1728. I have a copy of his will, dated January 1742-43.
My husband's father was Roll Willhite; his grandfather was
Caleb Willhite; his great grandfather was William Wilhite.
I haven't been able to make the connection to Michael. Caleb was born in Izard County Arkansas 2 Dec 1853 and died 11 Oct 1904 in Weatherford, TX. He married Arrena
Elizabeth Hodges in 1870. It appears that he added the
second L in the name Willhite, as it seems William spelled the name with one L. I would be most interested to know if
your Wilhite family is connected.

Your site is very interesting and well put together. I've looked through your DeWitt section particularly, but haven't noticed any so far that I have in my "collection." I would love to add a link to your site on mine. Perhaps eventually we will find the common DeWitt ancestor.

Etta Trudy Calk was my ggrandmother. She was married to Thomas Jefferson Lowden. Both are buried in Vista Cemetery,
Asher, OK. She was a tiny, spunky little woman with bright red hair. Even when she died in 1956, she had very little, if any, gray hair.
I am not a genealogist by any means...too old, too impatient! I do love to read about the ones who went before
and am constantly amazed how they overcame the hardships and troubles.
Thanks for your web site.
