joined in 1993 I was unaware of any local camps. Due to my
work schedule i was unable to participate in any camp
activity so i just stayed a member there. I last paid my

Richard Washington Pruitt, great grandfather, was in CSA
and buried at Salem Methodist Cemetery; Kinchen Q. Adams,
great great grandfather, and his son William Marion Adams
great grandfather, were also in CSA and buried in Salem
Baptist Cemetery. I am presently in conversation with
both Baptist and Methodist Churches for permission to
erect a Confederate Iron Cross at each of their graves
(already have marble monuments) with SCV Re-Enactors
dedicating the Crosses. I am now awaiting their decisions.
After I get permission, it will take about 6 weeks to get
Iron Crosses.
Would your Camp be interested in this dedication? Probably
in May?
Has been suggested we attend church on Sunday and have
covered dish meal and then dedicaation. Is that in line
with your procedures?
I had CSA monuments erected to two of my ancestors in
Bronwood, Terrell County, GA in 2001 and 2002 with the
UDC and SCV doing the honors, and it was quite an
experience each time.
