I do not have A web page because I have no idea how to set one up.We have just recently been able to buy this computer and I am very much in the dark as to how I'm supose to use it.Anyway I can not beleive how many Emmons familys there are and I was wondering if you could be of help to find out which one I belong to? My maiden name is Beverly Ann Emmons, my father was Donald Harry Emmons and my mother's maiden name is Susan Mundy.I dont know if they were married at the time I was born but they did marry.I was born in Point Pleasant,NJ.on October 2nd 1962 but left at around the age of 5,my mother remarried and we moved to Illonoise for A breif period and then to Arizona after that. I really enjoyed your site. I am researching Emmons also.The fartherest I have been able to go is to John Emmons, born around 1773, but I am still looking. Our side has Pipkins, Beasley's, Emmons, Robertson's and McAdams to name a few. John Emmons, Jr. married Catherine Manley and they miagrated from North Carolina to Alabama, Arkansas and Texas. Nice work you've done on this site. I am having a tough time finding information on Henry Emmons, b. 1774, d. 9 Sept., 1858. He married twice, first Mary Morse, who died soon after, and then my ggg grandmother Sarah (Sallie?) Hilton on 13 March, 1805. Not much to be found on Sarah (Hilton) Emmons of, I think, Portsmouth, NH, either. I'd be grateful if you had anything on them or their son John W. Emmons, my gg grandfather. My primary interest is in the Palmer S. Bowman, and his marriage to Marai Elizabeth Wiltsee, d/o of Jeremiah Wiltsee and Sarah Green. Palmer and Maria were married in Erie County, New York on 12 November 1854. They are both buried in Harris Hill Cemetery along with many of my relatives, i.e., Ketchum, Bowman, Porter, Munson, Powers, etc. Matter of fact, most of the several hundred can be traced back to New Jersey and Connecticut familes of the same names.

I found this page while looking at info about Rhode Island. I was aware of my ancestor John Briggs, and that he did inhabit the town of Newport in the year 1638. The family history tells me that he left Mass.Bay Colony because he and others of his religious believe were not welcome at that site.

I'm looking for a Phebe Tedrow who married Abraham Graft in Athens, Ohio, in 1844. Abraham died in 1900 in Athens Ct. and Phebe died about 1915. I can't find either of their parents - think Phebe's were Jacob and Mary Tedrow but their were two couples of that name in 1830 census in Ohio.

Dorothy-I have a completely different coat of arms than the one shown on web page. I have seen the one depicted here, but the one I have is different in colors, arrangement and has a lion's head. The motto is the same, however. It has been in our family since I was a little girl, that's all I know about it. My brother has it at the house in Westfield, Penna. Maybe mine's the wrong one!!?? It's amazing just how many Emmons' there are. I'm originally from California. My grandparents are Theodore & Bertha Emmons they had 8 children-7 boys and 1 girl. My fathers name is James Claude Emmons. And we do have alot of relatives in the Illinois/Wisconsin area. And lot still in California.
