I GREATLY appreciated all the interesting information and connections George pulled together. Copies of his research are now in the hands of several family members of the next generation, and they will be appreciated into generations to come.

Thank you so much, George. We miss you here, but we know you have so many departed souls you'll be seeking out to meet and greet in the great beyond. They'll love that you'd never forgotten them. :)

I have started researching My 3 nephews family tree and it has led me to your website. They are direct descendents of Joseph and Lydia(Spencer) Rexford. I haven't had a chance to look at all your information yet, but what agreat job you have done. I hope I can get all my info together for them so I can surprise them. They don't know I am doing this. I would love to know where I can obtain the book The 4 Spencers. Do you know where I can get this?
great job and feel free to e-mail me.

I enjoyed reading about your "Spencers" very much. I am tracing my family through my great-grandfather, Isaac Spencer, born 1825 in Indiana.I feel we are related, but can't prove it yet. Thank you for the wonderful web site.

Norma, as I previously posted, the author of this site has died. I was very close to George Spencer for 7 years with daily communication and visits to New York from CA from where he moved back to his home town from.
It has been 3 mos since his fatal heart attack and I miss him very much.
Only his son can make changes to the site, his father's email address, home address, etc. but is computer illiterate. I wrote to the owners of Rootsweb and we agreed to leave it as is for the Spencer family and generations rather than have Rootsweb remove all the wonderful info that George gathered over a period of ten years. I hope that it continues to be helpful forever to all of the Spencers.
Sincerely, Anne

There is a lot to absorb here! I have had trouble with so much conflicting stories about Gerard Spencer, and no one has been able to give me documentation, so I look forward to looking through all your sources. I live about 20 min. from Richmond. Do you have pictures of the Spencers' in the Richmond Cemetery? If no, would you like me to get them? Heidi

Manley Spencer (1843-1920) is my great-great grandfather. To myself it is Herbert, DeLyle, Dale, and then me. DeLyle passed away before I was born and when Dad was young, so we have always been hungry for information about him. Your website is amazing--thank you.

Wow! After some searching for an ancestors name, I ended up at your website and am blown away to know that I'm related to Diana Spencer through Lemuel Lee Clark, my fourth great-grandfather. I'm very new at researching and the terminology will take some getting used to. I'm anxious to get my "stuff" together and put it all on "paper."

George R. Spencer

George R. Spencer November 1, 1933 - September 4, 2004 Olean, NY - George, age 70, was born Nov. 1, 1933 and died of heart failure at home on Sept. 4, 2004. He resided in Monterey, CA for 29 years before moving back to Olean in 1998. We was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years. George is survived by his son Christopher (Rhonda) Spencer, 35 yrs old, a grandson, 5 yrs old, his sister Clarice Kohl
and his niece, Darla Warfield of Olean. Graveside military services were held Sept. 9, 2004. Arrangements were by the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. of Olean.
His hobbies included working on the Spencer line and riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He rode solo 3 times cross country from CA to NY and Novia Scotia. Presently he was working on updating his genealogy. He is greatly missed and I hope that the information left behind will help others in their research.
