What did you think of this site? Very nicely done and enjoyable
Comments:
I live in Dallas and I have a good friend that has a ranch on Fly Gap Rd. (McVey RAR). I have visited Mason several times over the years and love to just sit in the James River and just relax. I was down there on July 4th weekend and I started to learn more about the history of Mason co.and it is colorful to say the least. We visited Koocksville and Cherry Spring but somehow missed Loyal Valley. I guess that will be for next trip. One question is there anywhere or a good place to look for arrowheads down there. I have looked but never found one. Anyway thanks for running a great site about Mason!
Best Regards,
Nick Johnson

My great uncle was HERMANN LEHMANN, who was captured by the Apache indians and whose story is told in the book "Nine Years with the Indians". He was captured by the Apaches when his family was living in the Squaw Creek area of Mason County and was not returned to his parents until nine years later. HERMANN is buried in the Loyal Valley Cenetery.

How long have you been doing research? just began
What did you think of this site? nice
Comments:
My great grandfather Beck Gipson had a daughter named Ethyl and also a son Fred Gipson. My mother was born to Ethyl Gipson Owen who later married Lee Maddux. I'm trying to find out information on my maternal grandfather, I only know his last name was Owen. My mother, Elnora Ruth Owen, died in 1977 so I have no reference. I was named after my great grand daddy Beck and my moms' step dad, Lee Maddux. ( I no longer go by Becky Lee"...) I know my great uncle Fred was a writer, "Old Yeller", et al but I'd like any information you might have on the man whom my grandmother Ethyl divorced. (Owen) Thank You,

Rebecca Wheeler
