Hey, how are you. I came across your site while looking up information on the Stechmann name and saw there was a few of them. Im a 23 year-old college student currently attending the University of Mississippi. It's interesting to me seeing the different locations where ancestors with the same last name as immigrated to, seeing many from New York. I saw there was plenty of Stechmann's buried in cemetaries in Minnesota and by the date they would be those immigrants possibly, intersting to me. My dad's family is from the coast of Mississipi and before that New Orleans, just a short drive away. It's crazy to think how differnt I would be if my ancestors would have landed somewhere like new york instead of new orleans, being that I couldn't imagine being from anywhere but the south, as country as I am sometimes, ha. Any information you may have on the Stechmann name would be greatly appreciated. See you later.

Hello Loren,
today I stay in Horneburg parish to search for Baumgarten. Jens Bolting in germany has the same family and my daughter in law too.
Now I write my results of this family.
Johann Hinrich Detlef Baumgarten was born 1732 in Horneburg and christening there 03.oct. 1732
He married first with Gesche Spark, born she died 14th of April 1777 in the age of 54 years. He died 27th of Jan.in Issendorf, his age was 78 years.
His remarriage was 24th of Nov.1771 in Bargstedt with Anne Gesche nee Wiebusch, born 22th of June 1743 in Rüstje, died 29th of Jan. 1822 in Rüstje, her age 78 years.
The parenst of Johann Hinrich Detlef have been
Christian Hinrich Baumgarten, he was a soldier, so no dates to find of him of his wife Maria Lucie also not. But three more children I found in Horneburg
Christian Daniel * 1737, christening 16th Nov. 1737;
Johann Ulrich * 1742, christening 8th of Aug. 1742 and Christian Hinrich * 1747, christening 23th of Dez. 1747;
Georg Ludwig a son too married 5th of Nov. 1758 in Horneburg.
This is my work of today. Later I will continue the research for Jens Bolting and send it to you too.
Greetings from germany of Stade

Hello. I was looking on Google for articles and books I have written, and there I found another Linda Ekblad! I don't know if we are related. My paternal grandparents, Axel and Hilda Ekblad, came to this country, I believe, in 1923. My father, Torbjorn (I'm ashamed to say I don't know how to spell his name) was seven years old, and my uncle Stig was four. My father, teased in school for his accent, platinum blond hair, and his name, decided to use his middle name Axel, and it eventually became Alex. My uncle is still called Stig.
I know my grandfather came from Varmlandd (again, spelling?), but I do not know where my grandmother came from and what her maiden name was. I would love to communicate with the "other" Linda Ekblad and compare relatives. If possible, please forward this to her.
Thank you.

Hello,
Just found you on Ancestry. com
I am related to Stanislaus Stellmach.
My grandmother was Madeline Stellmach Jensen
My mother is Mavis Jensen Schrader
I have update some of the information on our line although there is a lot more I could do with my mothers help.
I am glad you found where they came from.
One question: was there a relationship between Margaret Gogolak and Johanna Gogolak or is that just a common name.
Also have you traced any of the Gogolak's - my mom remembers visiting other relatives.
I have been stumped on finding the marriage license in Milwaukee of Heinrich Schrader and Margaretha Luring. All resourses have failed on the internet. Also can't find Schrader coming into New York in 1985 - do you have any secrets that may be helpful.
Will bookmark your site so we can stay in touch.

Fun with the name Högberg and Hoberg, my relatives moved to Oregon and change the name from högberg to Hoberg. Firts I think they took away the dots over "o" and the name was Hogberg, but sounds not good in US so they took way the "g" too. But now I think the name Hoberg don't comes at that way, because in Dalrana, Dala-Järna wher my relatives comes from we have a area called just "HOBERG" and at the Emaus farm in Dala-Järna comes a Lady in at teh second married in Carl Erik Högberg's life, Anna Elida Jansdotter, she came from Säfsnäs not fare away from HOBERG. That can explain why Carl Erik Högberg took the name 5 years later when he moved to Portland, in Oregon?

Loren... I am doing a few research tasks for a friend of mine. His grandfather was Peter Jonssen (sp.var.) b. 1850 Sweden. He married Marie ? in Sweden about 1878, had a son George and emmigrated to US in 1879, naturalized in 1897. I don't have any details on the immigration, just what came from the Census stuff. I have found Peter on the 1920 and 1930 Census' of Kandiyohi, MN during a quick search this evening. Based on the timeframe of your lines, Peter would seem to fit in. Do any of these details match your information....? I just got the info above Thanks for anything.

I was looking at my mothers side (Richardson) and saw a entry ref Jonah Richardson. He is my great uncle. He use to come/visit during the winter and help my mother and father strip tobacco. When I retired from the Army I started packing mail in Lancaster, Ky. I knew Millard (snake) he died not to long ago he was in the nursing home, Stanford was on my route and Gene. Do you know Sherrie? She named her little boy Jonah. Harlow was my grandfather. I am trying to find info out on the family. When I get a chance I'm going to estill county. I live in Richmon, Ky.

Remember me--a Betterley relative. Percy Betterley, George, then Asa, then Abram. I'm the one who also sent you photos. Decided to check your site after a long time. You have so much information. --Incrediable. I am now in the process of putting some old photos in a notebook. When we dismantled my parents home last July, 2004, I got all the photos. Too bad names are not on them to identify them but I do have a picture of George, Asa and wife Rhode, Abram and many others. Hoping you are ok--not my new email-faster connection. Linda

Hi Loren, Just a note to let you know I've posted a database of more than 700 Vellahn residents including several Dahlings. You probably have them in your database already. My database is essentially about the Brandt family but I've included many families who married into the Brandt family there. Don't know whether you'll find additional connections for your Dahlings, but it might be worth a look when you have a few minutes. BTW, your homepage looks great!
Name: Ric Betterly <betterly@ferizon.net> Date: 2005-01-17 Comments:
me again. Wanted to give you my new email address. This also my help
My dad was Stewart Betterly Mary Schietrumpf (Mom)
Brother - Kenneth
Sister - Thelma (Eckrote)
His Father - Irvan
"Pop" had 3 brothers and 4(?) sisters
Clarance, George, John
Abby Miller, "Lizzie", ? Bruno.? Drasher
My grandmother was - Jennie Williams
GreatGrandfather - Wesley (Hit by a baseball and died)
---------------
By the time of the Revolution William was already a wealthy man. He was starting to sell some of his land off as the article from the Speaker shows.
According to the Butler Valley web site the St.Johns church was built around the early 1700's. Sarah Betterly and her husband ( Forgot name) are buried in the front corner. By that I assume they were one of it's early residents.Headstones are 2 small black Iron crosses with their names on them.
The picture I sent you of the Hotel was the 2nd one. The first( the stagecoach stop) was half that size and burned down. Irvan purchased the 2nd one from his sister Abby in the 1930's In '53 he sold it to Thelma, his daughter.
Hope this helps fill in some blanks
Ric

My grandfather was Merton E. Kridler. His son Merle, (Ernie), was my father. My dad died 2-9-02 in Portland, OR. My Aunts, Dorothy and Isabel, are both still living. I have 3 brothers 2 of which are still alive, David and Jonathan. Brian died in a plane crash in Bishop, CA, in Aug. of 2003. A note that you may or not be aware of, my dad died of a genetic disease called Alpha-1 Anti-trypsin deficiency. This is a hereditary condition which affects the lungs or the liver. If you haven't heard of it, I would strongly recommend getting tested for it, and also notifying any other Kridler relations. I currently live in Mesa, AZ working as a police officer in Apache Junction.

Looking for Sophia Caroline Dahling, married William Herman Whittnebeen changed to Whittenbeen and Whittneben. I found some family trees on the web, however I couldn't locate Sophia's parents from MECK short for Mecklenburg, Germany.
She and William had 4 children 27 Jul 1862 Sherrills Mound, Dubuque Co., Iowa U.S.A. and the last 3 in Pipestone, Minnesota where they lived and died.
Thanks, Donna

It lists him as being a descendant of bohmbach. Can you send me some information on this. I would be very interested.
Thanks

Hello. My sister Donna Nemeth (New York) told me about your webpage last year. I am thrilled with all of the information. It is really helping us to fill in our family tree. We are descendants of George and Dimmis Betterley. Last summer I was in Newfane Vt and had no luck finding the family cemetery. I was wondering if you had directions. I may be able to try again next summer. Thank you, Laura

My great grandfather was George W. Betterley. I noticed on the New York 1910 census he was 27 years of age and his wife was Annabelle. My grandmother was Florence Betterley, born 1901, died 1975. I am having trouble locating Georges parents, who they are and I also heard there was Native American ancestors? Any word on that? Florence was his first born. I don't know when he died but Annabelle died on 1925 in New York. They lived in Kings Borough Brooklyn.

Cool website! A research librarian gave me your info, I have Martha Turner listed on a chart provided to me by a distatn cousin. She was the first wife of Otto A Vernstrom B 1854 d 1890. I believe he is buried in Cannon Falls, MN (Goodhue County), his second wife, Caroline Peterson is my great grandmother. I have just begun my research and was impressed on all your swedish connections. Any suggestions as to how to begin researching for ancestory in Sweden?

Hi. THis is Catherine Galvin. You probably forgot who I am I contacted you a very long time ago about the Betterley family tree. Through you I reached Susan Castro.
My grandfather was Oliver Betterley, son of George and Annabelle (Robinson) Betterley. I am just curious how are the Dahlings related in the Betterley family tree?
