My sister and I have been searching for our paternal grandfather, Clarence Warren, who died approximately 1924-1925. There is a Clarence Warren on the list of names for North Sawba Cemetery and we will be attempting to find out if that is our grandfather.
Even if it is not our grandfather, we appreciate the effort of Gene Huntzicker and all of the individuals who were instrumental in getting the monument erected and who made the effort to identify those buried in the cemetery.

I recently made a trip to Gosnell to visit family and stopped by the cemetery. It is in horrible condition. The grass looked as if it hadn't been cut in about a year. It seems that when it is cut, it's done by bush-hog. This has led to many of the remaining markers being knocked over, and subsequently broken and chipped into small rocks by the bush-hog. I saw the cemetery about 6 years ago, and it looked much, much, much better then. I have some pictures of markers from several ancestors in my tree; surnames include: Crawford, Bryeans.

Name: William Clay Hurley <whurley@comcast.net> Date: 2005-06-13 My interests North Sawba Cemetery genealogy Comments:
My paternal great-grandparents are buried there. My great-grandfather was Caleb C. Hurley (item #465). He is incorrectly listed as "G.G."--the correct initials were C.C. He died in the year 1912--the last two digits on the stone are unclear and it is listed as "19??". His wife was Martha Mason Hurley (item #466).
I was told by my late father (Lemoyne "Dock" Hurley, B: November 27, 1908, Blytheville, AR, D: January 26, 1989, Detroit, MI) that his parents and sister were buried there as well. His parents were William Oscar Hurley (B: 1878 D: 1918, both at Blytheville, AR) and Florence Ellen Showen Hurley (B: 1879, Lauderdale County, TN, D: Approximately 1924, Blytheville, AR). His sister was Orlena Faye Hurley Anderson Simers, B: 1899, Blytheville, AR, D: Approximately 1936, Bolivar, TN).
If you ever get an inquiry about the Hurley family, please send it my way.
