just browsing, found an old school photo from 1954 that i am in - i came with my parents and siters to Oz in 196o. Loved the Havercroft ice-creams, memories. loved the custard icecream and i can still recall what Mr Havercroft looked like. A trip down memory lane for me with the Barton site, which we found purely by accident tonight.

After much work, I have concluded that Robert Havercroft #0703, born 1823 in Bonby, Lincs is almost certainly the same person as my ancestor, George Havercroft #1981, born in Bonby in 1823. Both had a father called Thomas and there is other evidence that they are probably the same person. He changed his name between 1841 and 1851.

If I am right, this site has given me 8 more generations of ancestors. Thanks Colin - this is a wonerful resource.
