My husband Carroll Marcus was the gg grandson of Eliza Rupe. She was married to T. P. Allen about 1847 in Tennessee. She was born in May 1828. I do not know who her parents were. She and Thomas P. Allen had a daughter Mary Frances who is the grandmother of Carroll. They lived in Texas, Williamson Co.

I enjoyed visiting your wonderful site. I hope to accomplish something of the sort about our family. My family is from Keokuk twp., Wapello County, IA and were neighbors of the Rupes in that township. I descend directly from the Seth and Rebecca (McIntire) Ogg and Benjamin and Eva Ann (Fisher) Young. Is it possible that you have any photos of the old OGG school in your collection that you would be willing to share? Or possibly any type of photos showing the local area. I descend from Martin Roop, b. abt. 1755 and Mary Barbara Matthias. Their children were: Jacob, John, Elizabeth, Martin, Sophia, Henry, Mary Magdalene and Daniel,
Not sure where Martin was born, tradition says PA but who knows!!. He lived in MD, VA, NC, SC and probably died in Gallia, Ohio where his son, Martin, had migrated.
Would really like to know who Martin, Sr."s father is.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

My great-great grandfather was Moses Rupp. He was born in Maryland and served in the Civil War from PA. He moved to Ohio; Medina County; Homerville and Spencer. Married Louisa, children- William, Mary, Ella, Franklin, Carrie + Catherine. My great grandmother- Carrie Rupp married William Ormeroid in Spencer Ohio where they are buried.
He had a relative named Menno that an old newspaper mentioned about a visit he paid to Moses. Hope you can help!

Thank you for your wonderful site! I am the great, great grand daughter to Reason Rupe. He married Melinda Crow. One of their children was Grace Rupe. The family settled in South Dakota - where some of them are buried there. Grace married James Carney and one of their children was Marjorie - my grandmother. I didn't have the connections of the Rupe family after Reason - or knew exactly where they were from. This has been a great help!

George Washington Rupe, born 25 Oct. 1851 in Iowa, was my great-grandfather. I am seeking information on his parents. For years I had thought his father was George M. Rupe born 1 Jan 1790 in VA, but found out later that this is not correct. I think his parents were Samuel and Christina Rupe, but I don't have any information on them. Any help would be appreciated.
