You have a picture of my Grandad William Rosamond with his mother and siblings on your Rosamond 4 link. It was wonderful to see a picture of my Grandad. The picture that you have of Bob Rosamond is a spitting image of my father Alan Rosamond.
I recently had a baby and had planned, that if the child was a boy I would call it William after my grandfather. The child was a girl and I called her Annabelle. After seeing the list of names, it would seem that William was very much a family name. Who knows, it still could be

My Uncle Thomas J. Rosamond was apparently at the family picnic mentioned in Mississippi he has told me about it before. My father was Robert L. Rosamond (Bob) former Mayor of North Little Rock, Arkansas Deceased in 1988. As you know I have been trying to get some info on my family. I have been looking through the Rosamond Page and so far I have not found any info on my side of the family. I have documents showing my relatives and they go back as far as the 1700's. I am a direct decendant of James and Rezin Bowie. My grandfather was William Richard Rosamond and his father's name was Thomas Newton Rosamond. When searching the website I hae seen other Rosamond generations but none of my generations. I have two beautiful daughters and five grand-children. I would like them to know about my family and anything else you can give to me would be grateful. By the way...whatever happenedto the book they were going to publish? Where is it now and how can I get more info on it. I would like to have access to the info if possible.

My father is from england, we also claim to be from the sergent rosamond you spoke of. we have tried several times to contact our southern Rosamonds but they refuse to talk with us. My father has created a very detailed tree with records going back hundreds of years. My grandmother Idora/Ida often talked about visiting relatives on Nevilles Prairie in Houston County. Her family of 10 children were raised near Glendale,Tx. Her husband was James Aaran Skains and they purchased their 50 acre home place fron Jonathon Hewill Arnold and wife Tobitha Jane Rosamond soon after 1881 which was their marriage date.
Tobitha Rosamond Arnold and my great grandmother Martha Rosamond Lane were sisters.

My Grgrgrandfather-William F. Knighton married Sarah Carey in Jasper,TX in 1861-joined 13th Mounted Calavery for Civil WAr-signed up in Crockett Houston Co. in 1862-he died in 1865-Only child- Wesley David Knighton 1864. This part of the family has been lost until 2yr ago I finally made it through "the wall". Because William F. died so young all records for him just stopped. Wesley David Knighton never talked about his family to anyone,not even his son Hollie Knighton my Grandfather. W.D. was a cowboy and married Narcissa Ketner daughter of Anna(Anariah)Thomas and Gabriel Ketner-they are buried in Waco. Gabriel and Anna came from Alabama, He a German emigrant who fought in Civil War.
