I really like how your website is laid out..What you're looking for is easy to find.. I'm researching my Breckenridge ancestors..They came here to Pennsylvania then to Virginia, here to Bourbon county, and then out west to Kansas and where I'm from Oklahoma. If you have any other information that I can't get on ancestry, I'd be so appreciative...

Thank you,

My 3rd great grandparents are Lottimore & Mary (Bryan) Hayden. Mary (Polly) Bryan was born at Bryan's Station, KY in 1779. She is the daughter of James Bryan, brother of William, Morgan & Joseph, founders of Bryan's Station in 1775. Lottimore (Lott) Hayden & Mary Bryan were married Dec. 1, 1795 in Paris. Bourbon Co. Courthouse, Marriage Records-Book 4. A two-story brick house was built in 1796/97 on 140 acres of property bordered on three sides by Hingston Creek. This property is now in Nicholas Co. The Hayden Farmhouse is still standing & has been recently renovated. I have compiled a book, "Generations of Lottimore Hayden" that documents this Hayden line back to Mayflower Pilgrims John & Priscilla Alden...Robert Q. King Corona del Mar, CA

Whether Edward Boone died in what is present day Bourbon County or present day Montgomery County is in question. The alleged Bourbon County See Road site warrants skepticism and reconsideration. See article "Edward Boone's Death Location" at the website of "The Journal of Kentucky History and Genealogy" for explanation and documentation of how it is very likely that Edward Boone died at the Grassy Lick in Montgomery County. Also, with regard to Edward Boone's burial site, Dr. Thomas D. Clark, the man for whom the Kentucky History Center is named, twice dedicated what he clearly thought was a burial stone marker at Boone Station in Fayette County to mark Edward Boone's grave there. These dedications were done in 1967 and again in 1997. Additionally, "The Pioneer National Monument" committee of stellar Kentucky historians declared in the 1950s that Edward Boone was buried at Boone Station in Fayette County, Kentucky. See archives at Eastern Kentucky University.

My family has lived in the Millersburg area for nearly least 200 years. I am directly related to the early pioneers and early settlers in the area. Hurst,Layson,Miller, Moore, Rankin, McClintock, Patton. I actually have many old letters and civil war era photos of some of these folks. It never fails to fascinate when learning of my lineage. Love the site!

Thanks in large part to the John Bircher information on this site and WFT I've enjoyed tracing my Leer family history from David Lehr (Henry Leer, David, William, David Michael, Charles Monros) to current.
If any descendants in the Leer line would like to guide me to copies of interesting photos or paper info I would greatly appreciate it.
Somehow...as with many families that move out of their origin...much was lost.
Thank you....Babette

A family member has just emailed me an article written by George N. Reynolds - Tombstone Tales - on an Indian Boy who died in a house in Millersburg, Kentucky. My family lived in that house for three or four years before moving to Florida in 1956. We were always told an indian had died in that house and blood stains were on the bedroom floor. I really didn't know if it were true or not and this now confirms that history. This house is no longer there, but I am happy now to know the story. We kids played in the Millersburg Cemetery and now I wish I had know this story sooner. I will visit the Cemetery and try and find this grave of this Indian boy who was killed. If there are other articles on this particular house or story I would be interested in learning about how to get them.

I am very curious about the information which is posted about the Morris-McClelland family:

55 M iii. Robert McClelland MORRIS was born on 17 Dec 1830. He died on 18 Dec 1914. Robert married Lucy LUNSFORD daughter of Littleton LUNSFORD on 29 Jun 1863.

Littleton Lunsford is one of my ancestors. I have 2 wives and and 6 children listed from records and census, but no Lucy Lunsford. I would love to know the source so I can correct my files.
