Thanks for the response.I will be happy to send you a photo of the chest.I also have a color picture of a taufschein for a child born to Anna Marie and George Egrod in Linn Twp.1802.It appeared in a catalogue for an auction at Pook&Pook in Downingtown.I will need a street address in order to mail you copies of these two items,A correction -I do not believe Anna Marie was born in Germany. If her parents were John sr.and Magdalena Neyer there is evidence that they may have arrived here as early as 1740.-Hope to hear from you again.Bob Zimmerman

We possess a decorated blanket chest 1776 which descended in a Nyer(Neyer,Neier,Noyer,Neuer,Niart}family which had a presence in Lynn Twp.as early as the 1750s.Our chest is a marriage chest with a somewhat illegible inscription on it with two names. One,Mary Magdalena ----,the other John Nyer;this wedding took place in 1776 probably in Lynn Twp.We are most anxious to identify the woman's surname. The Nyers and Eckroths seem to have had contiguous farms which suggests the possibility of inter-marriage.Do you have any record of a Mary Magdalena who would have been born about 1755 and who married a Nyer?We would also be interested in knowing where the Eckroth farm would have been in Lynn Twp.My wife and I are attempting to attribute the construction and decorating of this chest to a specific area and learning the bride's full name is crucial to our effort.

My great great grandmother was Rosalia Eckroth. She was a German from Russia . Her ancestors were from the Alsace-Lorraine area in Germany before they moved to Russia. They came to the United States in 1891 to homestead south of Bismarck ND . I'm not sure of her date of birth etc. Her son Henry was born in 1880, so she could have been born in 1860 .

What you were showing as my site was my personal site the genealogical connection was further down my homepage. The link above is the corrected one.
There is not much of the Eckenroth line on my freepages site as I have only done an ahnentafel chart there. There have been too many promises to living persons over the last 25 years to publish anymore. But I will gladly share first-hand anything that I have.
Lois Stafford did such an eloquent job in attributing here source as being from Mr. Kirkptrick I think I will just ditto her sentiments. I found his books at the LDS library completely by accident and maybe a little divine intervention. On my second to last day there, I laid out my 13-generation chart and post-em note pad right on the very first table inside the front door (back when you could do that). I am not sure how the postman for that area just happened to look at my chart and see my Eckroth connection but he did and we connected the next day. He led me to those wonderful books. From that day forward I don't hesitate to be "nosey" or "pushy" when it comes to my family data.
