Name: Gail Woodbury <gailwoodbury@att.net> Date: 2009-05-19 I heard about this site from Google search of Roger Plaisted My favorite part about the site was 2 early settler relatives were known to one another in Kittery Maine. My special interests are Roger Plaisted 1623 Daughter Elizabeth Plaisted Comments:
In working backward in my Swazey Family tree ( wife of Forman Crosby) I found Elizabeth Plaisted and then your great story of Roger Plaisted. In reading it, I see that he was associated with my other relatives from Kittery,Me. They are known as the Cutts of Kittery. My greatgrandmother on my father's side is descended from them. We all were in Salem/Beverly Mass by then.( early 1900's) In doing my genealogy Woodbury Family Tree, I am finding a lot of overlap in families by marriage or residence. I enjoyed your very clear history of the Plaisted family. I have run into that family name in other lines and now I will be able to trace them back. I see there was a Thomas Plaisted in the Salem Village in 1690, so he would have been known to John Woodbury, my ancestor in Salem/Beverly 1624. John Plaisted in Boston 1681 may be another line. Thanks again for you story. It brings an understanding to the genealogy. Cheers Gail Woodbury

I think you web site is fantastic. You have so much info in it and so well done.
I am also involved in genealogy. I see you have the Leach family listed. 1. How are you connected to them? 2. I am the great grandaughter of Mary, daughter of Reuben. You show Reuben born 7 Sept 1807. Everything I have found shows 17 Sept. 1807. Also, you show Mary, his daughter born 1846. She was the first born to Reuben and Amelia, on 9 June 1835. She married Jacob Noble 11 Dec. 1859. Per her obituary,s he was the last of Reuben's children to die, on 6 Dec. 1906 in Lafayette, Co. She was living with my grandparents at the time of her death. I just thought you would like to have this information.

She was born Adeline Bixby in 1854 NY, daughter of Archelaus Bixby and Mary Ann Roda, and died about 1877.

Hello Meg,
Wow what a site. I began working back from Ernest Hamlin 1921 and came to the wall of Nathaniel Hamlin. Having a stack of census and birth and death proofs for this line decided to stop. But remembered I hadn't googled at all for this line. Your site is the first thing I found and for some reason though I didn't think I needed an Asa read your story. Your style of writing is what I enjoy reading in general.
Then when I saw you mentioned an Oliver I had to finish it. But whe you came to the family I had just entered into my tree, I felt I had a gold mine.
I can appreciate all the time and effort you put into finding Asa. Thank you for all the other documents you found and are sharing with us.
I have Oliver Hamlin 1794's line for 4 more generations which I wish to share with you.
The family I am doing this for has no computer so know you are helping another branch of the Hamlin's know about their history with what you allow me to share of your site with them.
You made my day. May my additions help you in some way too.
Connie

Name: Jincy <jincy@cox.net> Date: 2007-07-13 Comments:
Meg--this is a great site! I have a document re the Kornhausers; it's a collection of silly poems written by biologists as they gathered (summers) in, I think, Long Island Sound. Katie gave it to your grandfather; he and I thought some of them wonderfully witty and, best of all, pointlessly silly. They call up a time when in their spare time people would compose nonsense songs instead of, say, turning on the tube. Let me know. Also, do you want info about E.T.? Is he part of the direct line, as he's related to you by blood? I get very confused about ancestry myself. The only family trees I was ever able to keep straight were the ones of the Olympians, the House of Atreus, etc., in Edith Hamilton's Mythology. Those were some ancestors!
Best wishes--

My father-in-law was Francis Patrick Scott. He married Louise Gordon (note sure of the date)
They had two children:
1. Barbara Joan Scott Schmidt (born in 1940), who married William Schmidt. They have two children: Victoria Schmidt Loucks, who married Richard Loucks, and have one child, Bryce Loucks (age 7); Jonathan Schmidt, who married Barbara (not sure of her maiden name), and have three children, (my name's a blank on their names, isn't that awful?).
2. Donald Alan Scott, born in 1945, died 2004, who married Susan Liverette in 1971. Two children: Patrick Alan Scott, born in 1975, who had a daughte, Taylor Eden Koski in 2002, with Erica Koski; Jennifer L. Scott, born in 1980.

I am a great-great-granddaughter of Major William Caven. He and his second wife, Jane Loughead, had William (1822-1904), John (a mayor of Indianapolis) (1824-1905), Robert S.
