I am looking for a marriage certificate between John Ellis Edwards and his wife Lilian. John Ellis (born 20th February 1865, Wales) emigrated (1885) via New York to Lyon County where he signed (1886)a declaration of intention to naturalize. According to the 1900 Federal Census he had married in 1891 and had a son Victor E (Ellis?) born in 1893 in Minnesota (somewhere). I need his marriage certificate to see if there are any other details (eg his father's name was Enoch Edwards) that will confirm that he is indeed one of my ancestors. I appreciate that every county has its own marriage records so I might have to approach every county. But I believe that births are collated state-wide, so maybe I should try to get Victor's birth first? The only trouble is that his birth is long before 1900 - and I believe I can only search records online that are after 1900. I would be very grateful for any help you can offer me. Thanks

May have had a baby also, no record found so far. I went to Hennepin co. courthouse, clerk did a search for a fee but found nothing for the marriage. Mr. Blake remarried and had more children. She, Catherine was a 'nurse' and he was a dealer in furs.
