We live in England and found your site very interesting. My wife's Great Aunt Rosa Marie Summerhayes married Leopold Bourn in 1918 in England, moved to Watertown in 1920 and were living at #303, Terry Road, Geddes in 1934. Does anyone have any pics. of Terry St. from around that time please, and any Bourn or Summerhayes pictures and/or information from Geddes, Onondaga, & the general Syracuse area that would help our family history research please. Many thks., Fred.

I would like to thank Susan Millet for taking time out for a stranger, for bringing that stranger's memories up to date, and allowing me, thru her, to give my Dad an enjoyable evening, reminiscing about his youth and mine. Miss Susan and I are no longer strangers, for she took me on the path to my youth and allowed me a glimpse into the years beyond. Thank you Miss Susan,
Linda

My great grandfather built a home at 109 Power St. It used to sit at the end of Power St. The street dead ended and had a large area of trees and wild space. My Dad graduated from Solvay HS. My grandmother worked at some business where they painted china, and then worked in the cafeteria at the HS. If anyone out there is familiar with Power St. can you tell me if the house is still there? Thanks, Lynn

I was looking for anything Syracuse and found you, which is even better. My families lived in Town of Geddes -Mersfelders on Grand Ave and Dillons on Yale Ave.

Dad and Mom worked for Solvey Process during the war. Dad was a security guard and not sure what mom did.

I will check back to your site periodocally to see what is new. I have some information on the Mersfelders and Dillons but not sure if it would be of any use.

I would greatly appreciate anything anyone out there has on these two families

Thanks for a great surprise

I am so glad that I found your website. You are doing a great job along with providing valuable information for those of us looking for family members. I am researching Brayton D and Mary A(Whittaker) Brown; Ora Montrose Brown; Albert(Bert) Brown. I would be very interested in information that you may have on this family. They lived in Geddes from around 1900 to 1920. Brayton was a carpenter and Ora was an undertaker. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work.

Very nice Website.
I am looking for anything on the Old Geddes Burial Ground, probably in the late 1800's to early 1900's, I understand that they moved the buried to such Cemeteries as Myrtle Hill to build the Womens & Childrens Hospital. I was wondering if you have come across any info about that.
Thank you for your Help in Advance.

I am looking for any and all information I can get for George Ernest Wright and Frances Jane Hayes, who lived at Geddes and Solvay. I think they married there @ 1887-1889, raised a family, died and may be buried there. George b. Oct. 1865 England, Frances b. May 1866 England.
Anyone know of this family?

Hello
I enjoyed looking at your website. I live in the UK and have been researching my family tree. I discovered that I have a couple of ancestors, Charles and Hamlet Worker, who emigrated to the US in the 1850s from Bedfordshire, England. Hamlet came to Geddes aged 16 and stayed his whole life. I found him listed in the directories on your site as a justice of the peace, which was a nice surprise. If you have anything else relating to the Worker family I would love to know more.
Many thanks Rebecca (London, UK)

My father Thomas P Hughes was born in Geddes and lived for a while in his childhood in the House of Providence. His father, James Francis Hughes, died when he was young and his mother, Elizabeth Schreyer Hughes lived in the same area until her death at the age of 96. My parents separated when I was about 2 years old and I know little about my father's family and enjoy being able to view the website.

Working on my husbands genealogy and am looking for any data on the surnames of Peverley and Cottrell. They were in Syracuse around 1890-1943. Do you have any data that would be of interest to me concerning these families? I do not know what exactly your site is for sp thought I would see if you had any genealogy information. Thank you for any reply you might have for me. Marilyn

As a resident of Lakeland, I attended Lakeland School from 1949-1953, spent 8th grade in the school across from the library, and graduated from Solvay HS in 1959. After completing college at SUNY @ Oswego in 1963, I taught a year of HS math in Auburn. I was married the next summer, moved west and have lived in the outskirts of Portland, Oregon for 40 years.

My parent's pictures are in the bookcase at the bottom of the stairs in the old Solvay library. They are about six years old in a class picture taken at Warner's Grade School.

I retired as a School Counselor and still do quite a bit of subbing. It's a habit, I guess. My husband's name is Greg. We have are three sons and three grandaughters. Life is very full. Nice to be able to communicate with you. Marcia
