This is a brilliant data source for anyone with a Purbeck ancestry. A huge vote of thanks to everyone who had a hand in putting this data together. It is very moving to see a few small communities develop over the centuries and see your ancestors weave their way through history.

What a find! Iam new to Genealogy bit cannot believe the progress made from your site and its links. My grandmother Louisa M BEAVES (aka BEAVIS?BEVIS) was born in Kingston (28-4-1872). Her mother Mary Ann GOVER. Her G.Mothers Annie MARSHFIELD 22/3/1791 & Ann TATCHELL abt 1816. All names synonymous with Purbeck. Are there others looking at the same tree? Thanks for allowing me access to your hard work.

I can't thank you enough for the information posted on this page. I had despaired of ever finding confirming evidence of my Marsh relations in England, and here I find many of them!

As a child in the 1950's and 1960's I lived on and off at the Square & Compass when it was run by Eileen Newman, along with her brother Raymond. It has been many years since I have been back to Worth, but hopefully one day I will return. (Melbourne, December 2006)

Thank you for the more than helpful info. What an excellent OPC I was born and married at Worth but never seem to be able to find out anything it took me several weeks to find out how to find a copy of my Marriage certificate yet just a couple of minutes to find information about my Ancestors . I've been trying to find out information on my Great Grandfather Charles Prior on behalf of my Dad . Charles fell off the roof of Either the Anchor or the Red Lion pub (I've forgotton how the story goes) in Swanage broke his back and subsequentley died . I have all other info on him apart from Date of Death (some time around the first quarter of the 1900's) He lived at Primrose Cottage or Rose cottage Hillbottom (I think) No one in the family knows where he was buried. His wife was Annie(MN White) Who later married a Puckett. His birth year was 1868 and he was born in Berkshire. Most of all we want to know where he was buried. Most of the information I found was due to me checking your site. Hey I had a great uncle Frank aged 8 in 1901 that I never heard of before Checking him out too. Any info on either would be most appreciated.
Thanks Again. Love your personal Sight by the way
Belinda
P.S. Where did all the Ninnehams go and who were they?
