Great site. I have not done much research but I do know that the brach of the Bolger tree I belong to came to the State of Victoria in Australia from County Wexford. My father Daniel Bolger's mother Catherine Kelliher came from Newmarket in Ireland also.
Interesting

Thanks and kind regards

Hello, I found your webpage on Bolgers. I have a contact with the Clattenburg Family. William James Bolger, son of Patrick Bolger & Mary Kerrigan married a Jessie Maude Clattenburg. Jessie was born June 30, 1901 in Pleasant Harbour, Nova Scotia. They were married Nov. 11, 1919 in New Liskeard. Jessie is the daughter of Peter Archibald Clattenburg and Sarah Elizabeth Myers. Jessie & William live in Kirkland Lake and South Porcupine. At one time Jessie was a waitress and William a hotel keeper.I can connect you with more of the Clattenburg family. My father's brother Simon Gannon married Jessie's sister Bertha Clattenburg and their sister Mary Gannon married Jessie's brother Isaac Clattenburg. Hope this helps.

Wonderful site, beautifully done. I am looking for Mary Bolger and all I know about her is that in 1938 she lived in Dukes Avenue in Chiswick W4 in London where I think she was in service. If there is anyone out there with any information about Mary, any relatives, if she got married, anything. I would greatly appreciate hearing from them.

More on Philip Bolger.
Philip had a very chequered army career. See the link below.
http://mappingouranzacs.naa.gov.au/file-view.html?b=3096295&s=B2455&c=BOLGER%20P
He may have moved to New Zealand post 1932 (or so), and apparantly married but died alone and destitute. Any help welcome.

I stumbled on your site while searching for a Grand-uncle of mine, Philip Bolger, of Kilrush, Clare, Ireland, born around 1885 or 1886. Philip was nick-named "Babs". He served with the ANZACS in WW1. His (Irish) family lost contact with him in the early 1920's. My father, Tom (Kilrush), believed he died somewhere in Australia in the mid 1930's. I live in Carlow, Ireland. If anyone can help trace Philip, I'd appreciate it. Great site.

BOLGER of New England
Posted by: Bob Decoteaux Date: August 31, 2007

I have recently learned that I had a aunt who married a Bolger..
Her name was Martha Alice Descoteaux .. altho she may have moved names around a bit.. she may have been known as Alice Decoteau or Decoto or some combination.. She was born 3 Mar 1901... in Quebec... a;tho she may have said MA or NY
The first name for my Bolger is Leonard .. I have a couple pictures of him in what appears to be MA , altho another picture shows them in the Pocono's..
Would anyone have any info on this couple ?

I would appreciate hearing from you,

Bob in Calif
