I have been researching the Sloan and Huckaby families. I have ran into a brick wall in my research of the Huckaby family.
I had an aunt who was married to a Jesse Huckaby. Her name was Velma Sloan. They had two sons, Homer Harold and Lloyd Edward.
I have been trying to find about Homer's wife, Lula May, and cannot find any information about her. She was a Williford before marring Homer.
Lloyed lived in Kansas City, Mo. and had a wife named Kay with a daughter naamed Eva.
Do you have any information that can help me?

I am looking for information about Lula Mae Huckaby. She lived in Beebee, Arkansas when she passed away about 3 or4 years ago. Her maiden name was Williford.
She married Homer Huckaby. He passed away while serving in the military in Thialand. I would like some information about their children.
Homer was the son of Jesse Walter Huckaby and Velma Louise Sloan (my aunt). Homer had a brother, Lloyd who lived in Kansas City, Mo.
I don't know if there is any connection or not.

My Dad, Jessie Randolph Ivey, was born in Buckner, Arkansas in 1927. He passed away in 2001. His Dad's name was Jessie Thomas Ivey; mother's name was Pearlie Bell Spivey. The Jessie you have listed is not a relative (I don't believe). At any rate you have done a wonderful job on your genealogy.

Your opening atatement echoes my sentiments. I'm learning so much, want to know more, but so little time. I'm really wanting to know more about Joshua Phillips b. about 1783-85, came from Ireland about 1815-17. I know he was in Meriwether Co., GA in 1850, and Rusk Co., TX in 1860 and 1870. John Thomas Huckaby was the son of Charles Huckaby and Elizabeth Floyd. Charles father Isham was also the father of my Great Great Great Great Grandfather James David Huckaby. While I was relatively sure Isham was an ancestor, making the connection was quite challenging.

It appears we have some of the same kin. I have been looking for a K.F.(Kneelan) Huckaby that served during the Civil War. He was married to Julia Ann Page. His father was John and his mother was Anna (?) I haven't had any luck finding him in our Huckaby/Huckabee family tree. If you can make this connection, I would appreciate it.

I live in Flint, Michigan. My Ivey family relatives originated in Cornwall, England and moved to the copper mines of upper peninsula of Michigan in the mid to late 1800's. Later, when they closed the mines, the family moved to Flint and worked in the car industry (General Motors). We may be related!

My father is Timothy Lloyd Ivey, brother of Weston and Robert. There father was Howard Lee Ivey, son of Paul Malcumb, son of Oscar Coleman, son of Alexander Capers, son of Owen Ivey.
Elaine Halley had been in touch a while back, and sent a great packet of history in the Ivey family. That got me even more interested, and now I have access to the internet. Take care from a West Coast Ivey.

David Simco, I believe, is my gggrandfather's uncle and Joab is my gggrandfather's brother. My gggrandfather's name was Thomas Simco. He moved to Mountainburg, AR, formerly called the Narrows, approx. 1838 from Illinois. I have all of his decendents and I think his father was John Simco, David's brother. Love to share any info on Simco's.

I believe David is an uncle to my gggrandfather. Joab is, I believe, is my gggfather's brother. My gggrandfather was from Mountainburg, AR (formerly known as the Narrows). His name was Thomas Simco. Would love any information you might have on David and Joab Simco.

Hello Karen - do you have any information on a Sallie Gladys Ivey? She was born June 27, 1906 and died "about" 1984 in Albia, Iowa. She was my greatgrandmother. In 1924 she gave birth to my grandfather Ray Avera Jr. and I assume she was married at some point to Ray Avera Sr. They are both buried in Los Angeles, at least we THINK she is (I have located his burial plot but so far not her's.) I am trying to track down geneaological information that was lost due to paternal abandonment of my father at birth.

I am researching my father's family, Phillips from Belfast, Ireland. Your surname, Ivey, is prevalent in Port Dover, Ontario. The Ivey family established the Summer Gardens, a dance hall that was built on the shor of Lake Erie in the 1920's. They also had Ivey Flowers for many years. A special play was produced last year called Summer Garden in memory od the Ivey's contribution to that fishing community.
