In your list of names that include people and cemeteries I found one ancestor whom I`ve been looking for. However I can`t figure how to understand this web page. It`s in alphabetical order but what does the list mean? The ancestor I speak of is Wright Outlaw, or as it is listed Outlaw, Wright on your web page . Can you help me to understand this list and maybe further my investigation as per your web page?

Thank you so much,

Cary Elliott

I have enjoyed the site.I am researching my BARKSDALE,COOK,DAVIDSON,WATSON,MARABLE families. My wife is researching her KING and PEACHERS family. In 1940 a lady from Hoptown found my 5th great grandparents BARKSDALES graves on there farm. She said you could still read the inscriptions.I believe she was a MARABLE but can't remember. They were DANIEL and POLLY WATSON BARKSDALE.There daughter SALLY was my 4th great grandma DAVIDSON wife of CHARLTON B DAVIDSON.He was a surveyor.Col RICHARD HENDERSON hired him and 5 other surveyors to survey the Jackson Purchase in 1820.They lived in Todd County KY.I (a cousin found)survey records and he said his farm was in Montgomery County TN not KY.The line as you know changed a lot before it was finally established.I'm stickin with grandpa C.B.Davidson' opinion...I wish I had known all this 25 years ago when I was at Ft.Campbell.Our daughter was born there. We lived on Peachers Mill Rd.My wife didn't know either of her KING and PEACHERS family. We hope to come geneologizing one of these days.Sorry for being so long winded.Have a good week.

Born a Warfield, but not by blood...Robert "Lucky" Warfield was the head of the household in 1960 and as was the custom, children out of wedlock.

Father: Thomas Miller, whom I have not seen but once in 1965, lived in Davidson County, trying to find him. I got a picture from him in 1968. He was working for TWA airlines in Los Angeles California, possibly born in 1933, told he married Sue Smoot of Christian Co., Ky...

Mother: Bertha Beatrice Carnell(Connell), she is the daughter of William "Bill" Thomas Carnell(Connell)...here is the connection.

William "Bill" Thomas Carnell(Connell) is the son of Percy Lee Dudley-Childs and Stepson of Charlie Childs.

On my computer screen, the words of the articles on the left side are blocked by what seems to be a picture of an old book binding. Is there any way of "peeking" behind that "binder' to get the full text?

Thanks,

I am seeking information about Rose Department Store in Memphis, TN. Possibly was at 82 S. Main street. I'm not sure though. I have a great uncle James Phelon Jacobs that worked at this address according to his WWI draft card (Sept 12, 1918). My father says that Phelon at one time worked at a Rose Department Store. I can't read the employer name on the card though. It looks like Knrr to me.

I noticed that there is a Mable S. Walker #315 listed on this site who worked at Rose Dept Store.

What a wonderfully generous posting of information, and the eloquent presentation adds much to the experience of browsing through the files. Found the one and only reference to a missing ancestor, Salvania Waller, mentioned in a deed issued on your site. Enough to convince me to keep looking for her and her daughter, Eliz S. Waller who married Cary Harrison, oldest son of David Harrison who died in Clarksville in 1821.

Would gladly help support this website, and will look again for an opportunity before I leave.

Hi, thanks for allowing me to be found as a "Rabbeth" online. I want the Rabbeth's in the UK to know that I truly believe that all Rabbeth's are directly related from our English ancestors.

I've found the Rabbeth spindle, the Rabbeth fishing reel, some kind of bullet or ammunition with the Rabbeth name and all of the living and past deceased complex Rabbeth people. I'm very proud to be a Rabbeth and would love some day to meet the Rabbeth's from the UK. I'm originally from Kentucky where you'll find lots of my living relatives mentioned in Google searches. This is lovely to make connections. If ever any of you from UK find this, please feel free to contact me, and maybe we can hook up. Wonder if we look alike? :-)

I'm interested in finding information on my ancestors. I was told that they came from CrossRoads Alabama. The last name would be "LaMar" My Grandmother maiden name was "Sally Couch". She married Henry Jasper LaMar. I do not know what year they were married. I have no information on her. All I know is that she died in Poteau, Okla. around the early 1930's. There is no grave marker and the city cannot find her grave because they redid their records in 1960. I was told that if she was buried in a free grave, that there would be no records. Its sad to think that she was totally forgotten. I sure hope my family won't forget me like that. Can you please help me?

I love to look at plantation homes and so I was searching for one called Corbandale. My grandparents were raised in the Montgomery County area and last summer my grandmother drove me by Corbandale. I have relatives that lived in that plantation home in the late 1800's and 1900's. My father's name is Corban (obviously a family name). I went to google and typed in Corbandale and stumbled upon this website. I was amazed that so many of the names of people on this website are my great great grandparents (Dr. S.A. Mrabale), cousins, etc. I feel like I am going back in time and seeing what it was like to live back then. It is so interesting to see actual quotes that my great great grandfather said!

I was researching some of my family tree and found the names of my grandparents and great grandparents in your database. Also found the names of my uncle in law's mother. I know that her husband is buried beside her. Her name was Elizabeth Thelma Chestnut and his name is Chauncey Chestnut. There were never tombstones purchased and I fear that his marker may have disappeared.

I am on a quest to errect a sign to serve as a notice to the apparent new real estate developer owner of the property where the Ross Cemetery is located. This is the location of the grave of "Elder" Reuben Ross among others in his family. To date, locating direct descendants has been difficult. I fear that since this cemetery is isolated, we may later hear an "oops" from the developer as much too often happens. It has been three years since it was cleaned. Brother "Shep" Shepherd says as soon as it cools off, he will see that it is cleaned. Reuben Ross was the first pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church in 1810. This historic cemetery deserves our continued attention. Please let me know if you are a descendant or are willing to help!!

Greeting from the Conrads. I am gt gt gt grandnephew of Joseph Conrad who died in Dec 1794 abt. 18 mi. S of Louisville KY at Mann's Salt Lick. Joseph's Will is the 1st recorded in Montgomery Wills BK 1. Joseph's paternal Uncle, George Philip Conrad, is the same Philip Conrad mentioned in Judge Haywood's history to be later regarded as the first accidental death reported in all of what's now Tennessee west of Cumberland Mountain. Place of death today very close to if not actually coincident with the intersection of 4th & Demonbreuen (at NE corner of Country Music Hall of Fame).

George Philip's brother, John Nicholas Conrad, whose name appears as "Nicholas Coonrod" (or, something close to that spelling) on the Cumberland Pact, likely was not the actual signer but more probably someone else signed on Nicholas' behalf. Early Davidson Co. land records show Nicholas inherited 'Philip's' 640-acre tract in what today is Wilson Co. Thanks to the fabulous stewardship resulting in the loss/misplacement of the Tennessee County records, the Conrad's history there during the 1789-1795 period is little known.

Nicholas Conrad's grandson, George Alexander the Great Conrad served in Co. H, 14th Reg't. Tennessee Vol. Inf., under his brother-in-law, Frank Summerfield Beaumont.

I'm Looking for information on Fannie Laura Weaver she was born May 13, 1917 and died the same day but the info. I need is the Death Certificate said she was buried in Blackwell Cemetery...place of death was Dickson Co. Civil Dist. 10. And her parents where Melvin and Malinda Ann Browning Weaver. (They are buried in Browning Cemtery)but the question I have is...is there a Blackwell Cemetery? And could you see if Fannie is in there. Because there are two infant markers in the Browning Cemetery that were there kids but unless this Death Certificate is wrong then they had another infant nobody new about.

I am seeking any information that would assist in my research of the NELMS family history. My great grandfather, Alfred Nelms, and his father John sailed from England to Australia in 1873 aboard the barque ‘Indus’. Alfred was baptised Alfred Dingle (born to the unwed Fanny Dingle) on 7 Oct 1855 at Great Milton, Oxfordshire. By the census of 1861 he was listed as Alfred Nelm(e)s and living with his father John Nelm(e)s. John’s parents were Cook Nelms (1795) and Harriet Lovegrove who were married in 1824 and John was baptised on 27 July 1828. Other children of Cook and Harriet were Maryanne (1824), Henry (1831-34), Alfred (1833), and Elizabeth (1839). Cook’s parents were Cook Nelms (1766) of Shabbington and Mary North (1761) of Ickford.

Parishes that are mentioned quite a bit include Ickford, Shabbington, Great Milton and Great Haseley.

Cannot document that she died in 1901 but have that info-unknown as to where she may be buried. David Scott McCarrell appeared on the 1910 census in Dickson County, TN. Also have that he died in 1913 but no documentation to this- Thank you for any information you might have and share.

I have been trying to find information on Mary Alice Lockert, daughter of David Read Lockert, who married John M. Felts. I did find her on the 1870 Cheatham Co. census. She raised my grandfather, Burton from a baby until her death in 1898-9. We have heard she was killed in an accident but have been unable to find any information verifying how she was killed.

While I now live in Houston Co TN, I grew up in Guthrie KY and went to high school and college in Montgomery Co. The web site brings back lots of memories of family and friends. It helped me locate burial places in the Dotsonville area where a lot of family are buried. I have found information on my husband's family as well. Hope you get Greenwood Cemetery up soon, I have family buried there also. The web site is lovely to see and easy to use. Thanks.

Under Lost People, you have reference to a Prof. Harper. That would be William Isham Harper. I've enjoyed your site immensely as my grandmother was Martha Ann Harper and lived for many years in Clarksville.

Great website. But I am searching for Clarks from Ireland to Maryland to West Virginia. So if you all come across Allegany County, MD or Preston County, WV. Then please by all means inquire about a Laughlin Clarke/Loughlin Clerk from the Republic of Ireland. Also, if you transcriptions dept. ever finds his name on a ship from Ireland to America sometime in 1836. Then that would help me solve one more piece to my unsolved puzzle.

Thanks and Sincerely,

Melinda in PA
