I grew up in Dunmore. Graduated DHS in 1958 married and moved to Pittsburgh area where I have resided since 1958. Recently retired and researching my roots. My great grandfather (Dan Powell)emigrated from Wales with parents and some siblings. He was street commisioner in Dunmore years ago/.I still have 2 sisters in Dunmore. I remember Dunmore corners and the trolly tracks. In fact, my father, brother & I gathered up some of the bricks when they were removing the tracks.

I have been searching for information regarding David P (DP) Barton who lived in Dunmore at least as early as 1860. He had a livery and was at one time the sheriff. His wife was Mehitable (maybe Krotzer.) There were four child: Josephine, Leander W, David E, and Arabella. David E., my gg, married Alice Moffet, daughter of Christopher Moffet, also of Dunmore. I believe that Mehitable died in 1899 in Dunmore. David P apparently died before then.
Any information would be most welcome. Helen Winfrey

I should have put my family name on this site. Adam and Maggie (Duhig) Miller family. I have a photo of all members taken about 1920 either in Dunmore or Archbald.

Do you still live there?

Colleen,

My great-grandfather is listed on your death records page, Michael H. Barrett, d. 11 May 1897. What is that record, a death certificate? GRSNP couldn't find one for me...
