Found your website very helpful. Have several relatives that are working on the Blanton side. I know my Great Grand father was William Thomas Blanton and married Nellie Brown (b. 1865)... now trying to fill in the blanks. My mother's maiden name was Blanton, her father Emmet, whose father was William Thomas, whose father was Gazzaway Blanton, whose father was Obediah Blanton, whose father was William Blanton (1733) whose father was William Blanton (1678) whose father was Thomas Blanton (b. 1648)... A resident of Hutchinson most his life, he was the owner of Blanton Used Cars, Hutchinson, for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He attended Westside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jackson, Franklin, Louis, and Joseph Blanton; and two sisters, Phylis Blanton and Barbara Williams. Cremation has taken place.

These are my biological parents, I am looking for any information on this line. I believe he may have been born in NE or KY. He divorced his first wife and married my mother. I could probably go further than Matthew, but not much is known about my Blanton heritage. I am 18 and live in PA but most of my family whom im very close to lives in Kentucky. They lived in a small farm in Lincoln County (Crab Orchard) Kentucky... My great grandparents were William J. Blanton and Mary E. Blanton, and my great great grandparents were Mary Alabam and Mattison (Matthew Blanton). I have a federal census from 1920 in Lincoln County and pictures of gravestones, let me know if anyone is familiar with this. I am the only one wanting to go further into this unknown history...email me if you have info. This site is very very wonderful, keep up the good work.

I'am trying to find my G.Grandmothers Matilda b. 1864/1865 Farther&Mother she Married James Crofford/Crawford about 1883 b. 1864/1864 in I think in Harlan Co. Ky.. I think that her farther was John R. Blanton or Jackson Blanton. Can not find her marrige? But I know she lived in Wallins Creek Ky. till 1920s then they show up in Lee Co.
