It was interesting to read from this diary, especially about my 4th G-Grandfather John Hagler. It was fun to read Mr. Osborn's description of the meal provided. I was in the area of the Hagler farm Saturday. Alot of the area is still farmed so I can imagine the traveler's adventures. Thank you for sharing.

I want to thank you for putting this online. My direct ancestor was Daniel Winchester of Meckelnburg-Union County.
I was so excited to find his names mentioned a few times in John's diary.

Thank you very much for posting the Osborn Diary. There is an account of Mr. Osborn's visit to my ancestor James Love in Cabarrus County on Aug. 20, 1820. What a precious glimpse into the lives of those who came before us. Many thanks.
