An interest in genealogy led me to Cold Water Cemetary as I have found I am a direct descendant of John Patterson. How thrilling to know my ancestors were part of settling the area in which I now live. Thanks to the DAR for making this wonderful place availablefor us all to enjoy.

Jim, Thank you for this lovely website. As State Historian in 2002-2004, I was pleased to be able to play a role in having the cemetery placed on the Historic Registry. I wonder if a picture of that marker and info regarding its placement could be added in your history and a copy of the info on Mrs. Lanz's plaque on the Wall of Honor added? Thank you again, Janett

Learning about chapters in the St. Louis area and the state of Missouri. Since Cold Water Creek Cemetery is maintained by the MO State Society DAR this is an opportunity where I may be able to volunteer. It's good to know what's going on in the state and where a person can volunteer their services.

I was honored to be with American Legion Post #444 for their annual Memorial Day Dedication. I did not know the history of the Cold Water Creek Cemetary and the honor that it provides for those who gave their lives for our great country's freedom. Thanks to the Daughters of the American Revolution for their dedication to such a worthy history cause. Jerry Reich 5/31/06

Eusebius Hubbard is my 5th great grandfather. So I am very interested in finding out more about the Dedication of the Dar Grave Marker. Also what information the chapter may have concerning him. I am a member of the Lancaster (CA) Chapter of DAR located in Lancaster, CA.

Where is Stone Water Cemetery located in Missouri?

Thank you for the opportunity for our troop to do the flag ceremony during the Memorial Day Service today. Several people asked if we had copies of the "13 Folds of the Flag" that was read towards the end of the service. I have a copy of if anyone is interested to get one by mail. It is also at several places around the internet.

What a wonderful tribute to those regents who served before and what an opportunity for those of us who will never get to travel to the cemetery, to share in its beauty. A lasting tribute to the ages.
Congraulations to Janett Rowland Miller on another job well done. Patricia Petre Surber, PRP

My great-grandmother was Elizabeth (Patterson) Couch, dau. of Durrett Patterson, son of Elisha, son of John Patterson, Sr. Since many of my Pattersons are buried in Cold Water Cemetery on land donated by my gggg-grandfather John Patterson, Sr., Revolutionary War Patriot, I would really love it if someone could videotape, or at least photograph some of the Memorial Day ceremony coming up at the cemetery. I live in Oregon and won't have an opportunity for quite sometime, if ever, to visit the cemetery...

-Thank you,
Bob Couch,
Portland, OR

Is there an up to date list of burials which include dates of birth and death? This is for the St. Louis Genealogical Society database now being compiled of all possible burials in St. Louis City and County.
