Hello, I'm trying to trace my family tree.
My grandfather's name was Kenneth Rosenberg, until the war. He was born in America to my knowledge. He was jewish. I think he had atleast 6 brothers and sisters, who are still living in America or somewhere else....
He changed his name to Montrose during the war, as it was a well known fact Rosenburg was a jewish name.
I'm not sure when he moved to England, it was before my mother was born, and she was born in 1954.
He died many years ago, and I don't get much information out of my mother or uncle as it's been so long, and they have forgot most things. But i'm trying really hard to complete my family tree, if you can match him up to anywere on yours, or you know anywere he might be! Please let me know.

I live in England and have a family bible. The first entry name in the bible is George Rose dated 1864, I don't know if this was his birth date. My mother tells me it has come from her fathers side of the family,( whose name was Davies) and as far as she was told the Rose family were ? I was searching on Google for information on the Rosenberg family tree. I was trying to found out some things to see where I came from. I know I am German. My father says I am 60-90% German. My last name is Rosenberg. I'm just curious. I don't know many websites that can help me find out some stuff I want to know. I didn't find out anything while I was in New York in 7th grade (I am in the 10th grade at Lee High School). While I was in New York, we went to the Statue of Liberty and I looked for my ancestors and I couldn't find them. Maybe they came in somewhere else. I'll ask my History teacher about it, but maybe you could help.

I loved you site Jon. I have a book titled The East Friesens in America. I originally had it in German Script. My uncle in Sioux Falls found it in English. You would love it. Has a lot of your surnames in it.Pastot Georg Schnucker wrote it.Central Publishing House, Cleveland,Ohio. 1917.It follows East Friesens from Germany to Illinois to Iowa etc. I'll try to find out how my uncle found it. Otto Franzen Willems Jr. (1859-1906) married Anna Maria Ommen. Cornelia R. Williams (1891-1933)<---My grandmother! Married Carl F. Braasch. They had 8 children the last of whom was my mother Mary Lou Braasch (1932-1986) married Al Melih. They also had Malvary Braasch-Wendt who has signed your guestbook and is also my aunt!(waving hello to Malvary!). Well this was exciting! Hilke Willems is my great great great grandmother (I hope I have the amount of "greats" correct). Cornelia Willems was my maternal grandmother. Cornelia is the mother of another one of your visitors (Malvary Wendt--My maternal aunt). What I know about Hilke (thanks to my aunt Malvary and her endless research)...is that Hilke came on a boat to the USA in 1866 and had 2 sons (one of which was my great great grandfather (Otto I beleive)...and she had a 4 yr old daughter who died while they were still at the dock waiting for thier ship to take them to America. I am trying to find more info. I have 5 children who are always having heritage projects asking "Who is your first ancestor who arrived from the old country, etc.". Nice to meet you cousin!!! from Manslagt, Ostfr. His ancestors lived in such places as
Wirdum, Pilsum and perhaps other places in the Krümhorn.
I think the first Karsjens in the lineage was Karsjen Reints, son of Reint Jacobs. Ede's father was Ewe Mennen Karsjens.

I believe that Harm Wubben was related to my great grandfather. I believe that he may have been an uncle. My great grandfather was George Wubben son of Berntje and Onna Wubben of Pekin, Il. Berntje died in Pekin, Il on 10-24-1897. I do not have her age or can not find where Onna(Onne) died. I suspect that Harm was a brother possibly to Onna Wubben. Harm was born 01-03-1824 in Larelt, Ost, Germany and died 02-10-1909 in Pekin, IL. His wife was Antje Zaayenge. She died in 1902. They are buried in Lakeside Cemetary in Pekin, IL. They resided at 809 State St; Pekin, IL according to the 1895 Pekin City Directory. They were the homeowners. Harm was a bricklayer by trade. They belonged to the Second Reformed Church in Pekin, IL. I am going to go to the library to try and locate their obits.
